Oh gosh, that's a toughie! I had a guy that like once but he didn't get violent, just accused me of cheating and yelled alot at useless things. One night he had a revelation and apologized and everything was ok after a LONG discussion. Maybe you should consider sitting him down and talking to him about it. Don't threaten him but definitely make sure he knows that you will not tolerate it, if not for you but for your children. If he just gets defensive and denies it , then maybe you should consider splitting up. You never know how things will end up so you might get back together for good after that!

He sounds like an alcoholic...be very careful, he could get worse. Protect your children and kick him to the kerb once and for all. Once and alcoholic, always and alcoholic!!!

I'm sorry to tell you this, but he is physically and emotionally abusive. You need to leave him asap to protect yourself and your children.
If you need help leaving or think you may need a restraining order, call your local abuse hotline and ask to speak with an advocate.
On average, women leave their abusers 7 times before finally leaving them for good. Don't get stuck in that cycle. No one deserves to be treated the way he treats you, and the drinking is not an excuse.
Best wishes to you and your kids.

You don't want to be in a relationship with someone who drinks and becomes a monster.
You don't want your children to be around someone like that.
Get away from this guy and don't look back.

kick him to the curb honey... i had a best friend go through this and breaking things turned into smacking, smacking turned into beating, and beating turned into a broken nose and a couple black eyes.... its not worth it at all... get out before things get too dangerous... but if you really love him... get him some help... anger management and help him quit drinking

He needs to accept that he's an alcoholic, will always be an alcoholic, and can never drink again. Will he do that, and will you support him emotionally? This isn't an easy thing to admit, and he must be willing to do it for his own sake.

If he is violent when drinking, and refuses to give it up COMPLETELY, then don't let him anywhere near you or your kids. Kick him to the curb.
You MUST consider your and your children's safety first.

Does he realise how much alcohol changes his personality ? If he does and is not prepared to do anything about it then I am afraid that it's best to get shot of him, however talk to him first and give him a chance to change.
