I entered my case number in the USCIS website but there's no particular information on to whom this case number is for, no name etc. How do I verify that this is truly mine?

Verify the number with the office that issued it so that you will be sure.

The can't put your name up due to privacy considerations. but to be sure, the site doesn't give much in the way of hard information. depends on where you are as to what you can do. if you're in the States, you can always visit your nearest USCIS office personally and ask.

If you have the paper, don't worry about the website. I've never known a consular officer to turn down an H1 unless there were signs of fraud.

Where did you get it from? Did you pay to get the job? What causes you to distrust the number?

Check with the US embassy or a US consulate.
