In a way Paul is the author of modern day Christianity --- more than Jesus.
But the pure Message of Jesus was altered over the next three hundred years, with the final 'blow' being struck at the Council of Nicea in 325 ad.
Constantine, in fear of losing control of his eastern Roman Empire saw religion as a useful mechanism of control over disparate populations rife with sedition and a plenitude of cults and sects of every kind. He convened the Nicea meeting to define a whole new set of precepts to the dogma of the budding 'Christianity'.
The Gnostic gospels had been written largely before the Christic, and were at some considerable odds with the line that Constantine was looking for. The main thrust of the council was against the so-called 'Arius heresy', the issue being the 'divinty' or otherwise..... of 'Jesus' ( Yashua bin Jusef ). Arius was an Alexandrian, where a great deal of the early churches scholars and scriptures had been lodged after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 ad.
This is also worthy of note because the greatest repository of ancient and current texts was held in the Great Library of Alexandria, which was burned to the ground by the first Christian Fundamentalists, precisely because it contained so many authoritative texts that ran against the tide of Paulian dogma.
There has been wide debate about this for centuries, but the most likely candidate would be the Emperor Aurelian (270–275), whose attack on, and destruction of Alexandria seemed to have been concurrent with the loss of the library.
It is not at all coincidental that just a few years later Constantine was able to, effectively and literally, re-write the 'book' on 'Christianity'.
It should also be taken into account that the Persian deity, Mithra, was the front runner besides 'Christianity' for the new, official religion of the Roman Empire, and the parallels between Jesus and Mithra are remarkable, and also not coincidental.

So who was made to fit whose dogma ?
Roman paganism indeed, except who decides what is 'pagan' and what isn't ?

Very true.
First of all Paul never met Prophet Jesus, he claim he met Him some where in his dreams or I do not know where.
If I claim I met yesterday Prophet Jesus(pbuh) who is going to believe me, some of you will say your are critics of Christianity that is why you are liar, OK, now what about who was opponent and critic of Prophet Jesus Himself, how come that person can be acceptable and his claims.
He is definitely a liar, and twisted original teachings of Holy Prophet Jesus, Muslims can not accept enamy of Prophet Jesus(pbuh).
Secondly, For first answerer, Mr. Rev. Einst.., and also Mr. Vladimir (my old friend)
Sir's did you ever get chance to read Original Bible in its original languages, i.e. Aramaic for Injeel, and Hebrew for Tuarah.
I challenge you and all like you can not find even single copy of Those Holy Book in its Original language. What ever you have all corrupted translations from Translations.
Max. close you can go to Greek Translation and that’s it. Reading some thing in **** bits and with close and narrow mind will not going to help you.
You have to be open mind and with broad vision to get a wise and comprehensive message of noble and Final Revelation for Guidance of Human being, That is a separate topic, and how you can prepare your self to digest very wise and full of wisdom teachings of Holy Qura'n.
I discussed on different answers briefly before and Insha Allah will do again some other time Insha Allah.

It's called Christianity, not Paulianity. The" pure message of Jesus" hasn't been altered in 2000 years. There wasn't a single gnostic book written before the end of the first century, long after the Gospel had not only been written, but the general order of the New Testament canon had already been recognized. The great library at Alexandria was destroyed by the Romans under Julius Caesar.Christ wasn't born on the 25th of December. You should study history a bit more closely.

Quick question on motive:
"Constantine, in fear of losing control of his eastern Roman Empire saw religion as a useful mechanism of control over disparate populations rife with sedition and a plenitude of cults and sects of every kind."
Ok, so to maintain control of an Empire, he took Islam and changed it into Christianity? It just does not seem logical.
That does not make sense.
Islam is a total ideology, not just a religion, and it has imperialism built into it. With rules about everything and ever aspect of life.
It is the perfect religion to control an empire with, as muhammed proved.
So why would he change it to Christianity which really is not as good at all for this mission?
If I wanted to control people, Islam would make more sense than Christianity....which is more relaxed and not as all encompassing.
So why would he create Christianity......when he could have used Islam to rule completely as a caliph?

Question...Why would the council of Nicea be a concern of Muslims as Muhammad and his Qu'ran agreed with the Gospel and the council of Nicea was hundreds of years prior to the Qu'ran? If the Gospel was correct at the time of the Qu'ran as the Qu'ran agrees it was...how could it be corrupted by the Council of Nicea? If Paul corrupted the Gospel 600 years before Muhammad why is the Quran saying that it was the word of Allah? The Muslim logic of disagreeing with the Qu'ran always intrigues me.

Yes your statements are quite right that Paulus is the author of modern Bible but it is not genuine as has been given by Allah the only one God through Jesus.Barnabas Bible is nearing to its genuine but it was rejected by Roman Empire
.Dec 25 is not the birth day of Jesus It was a Roman people festivity for worshipping and thanking to their gods.
Islam and muslims respected and acknowledged Jesus as a prophet but he is not the son of God...

Most of the Modern new testiment was writen by the proft paul ,the funny thing is paul (saul) never met Jesus except for his spirit on the road to hunt jesus's followers. But most of the suposed new testiment of christ was writen by him........
Jesus and most of his followers lived in communal coditions , and all of his followers where nazerites (a religious sect , where you take a vow to god , no razors shall touch your head , and you shall not partake of grapes).Of witch I personaly know of no moddern chritan sects that follow this , except for possibly a few of the amish communities .
Food for thought

The message of Jesus is so simple and pure that every evil that is in every age and from every corner of the earth will not alter it.
His message is : Love one another.
All that other stuff that people get messed up with is irrelevant.

Your question is answer itself.
Mr. Paul definitely altered original teachings and philosophy of Prophet Jesus(pbuh).
He never met Prophet Jesus in His first appearance on earth.
In fact he was opposed during His first life on earth. How come he can claim that he is Apostle of Prophet Jesus.

Muslims (and Islam) say Jesus was a prophet but they reject all His teachings ....that is hypocrisy.
They reject Christ's diety;
they deny his claim to be the Son of God;
they deny his death on the cross...
they deny His resurrection..
They deny Jesus is the Christ/ Messiah...
In fact, the Quran says : "Allah has no son".
Need I say more...?
Don't be deceived. The Islamic god is totally different than the God of Jesus Christ.
The Bible calls Muhammed and those like him false prophets:
"Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ, that denies the Father and the Son. He that denies the Son, the same has not the Father." (I John 2:22)
