Sunscreen. Every day, winter and summer, even if you're just walking to the car to go to work and will only be outside for 5 minutes. Most wrinkling and skin damage attributed to aging is actually damage from the sun. It's cumulative -- you don't need to get a burn to do damage. Unfortunately, if you spent a lot of time in the sun when you were a kid or in your teens, you've already done a lot of damage that will show up in your 30's and 40's. You can prevent further damage, but you can't undo what you've already done.
You just asked about keeping your skin young-looking. If you want to stay young-looking overall, you should exercise, stay fit, don't have your weight fluctuate wildly, sleep well, don't do drugs, and don't drink too much (or at least don't do it too often). You may not look 20 when you're 50, but people might mistake you for being in your 20's after you pass 40.

Well, that is virtually impossible. You may be able to look 5-10 yrs. younger..but I doubt 20-30 yrs! However, the best way to look younger is to stay healthy...eat right, sleep right, exercise regularly, drink lots of water, don't smoke, wear 30+ sunscreen, wear sunglasses outside, don't tan, use no soap or very mild soap, and moisturize morning and night. But the best hope for youthful skin is good genes. And don't worry about looking 40 or 50...that can be the time of your life. Just enjoy who you are, where you are and how you are! :)

If u want to look 20+ years younger, it's crucial to start preventing the aging process when you are in your 20's. In order to turn back time that much you need plastic surgery. If you're still young, take care of your skin, eat well and stay out of the sun. If you're in your 40-50's and looking to look THAT much younger, I would say it's impossible without plastic surgery.

I personally don't think it's realistic to look in your 20's when you're in your 40s or 50s, but here are some good products to help skin looking young and youthful.
1. A good, photostable, high-PPD sunscreen: since up to 80% of visual signs of aging is the result UV rays.
2. Stable vitamin C serum (or any kind of anti-oxidant): to improve the stability of sunscreen and help reduce environmental stress on skin. Also helps promote collagen production and evens out skin-tone.
3. Retinoids: helps in collagen production, collagen protection, possibly DNA repair, clearing the pores , normalizing keratin production to keep the pores clear, speeding up cell turn over, etc

Hope for good genes! Both my mother and her mother always looked many years younger than their actual ages. Neither of them used anything special either. Staying out of the sun will help tremendously. Use a sunblock with a high SPF when you are in the sun, and be sure to use sunblock in the winter months! The sun is considered the number on factor in causing aging and wrinkles. So, hope for good genes and use sunblock!!
