Whats going rate on what to spend for a wedding shower. I was thinking $25? This is for a good friend and I probably wont be attending shower since its out of state. Also if I gave a gift card for a wedding is that ok? does it have to be cash? And how much is going rate to spend if I go to the wedding alone? and what if I take a guest if i am invited what should I give? please reply

How about a 30 gift card to sherwin williams paint store? is that a good idea for a wedding SHOWER?

get her something she can use on herself. Give her a gift card to a spa or something. The weddings can be really stressfull/

I really don't think a gift card to Sherwin Williams is a good gift. However since you are out of state a gift card is fine. If she is registered, you can either have something sent directly to her or give a gift card to a store at which she is registered. If she is not registered then give a gift card to a more generic store than a paint store. A $30 gift card would be fine for a shower.
I would think you should spend around $50 - $100 for the wedding. A gift card would be OK there too.

Use the $25 for a gift card, or $25 towards iTunes. Giving cash is a little tacky.

any nice kitchen appliance (nice coffee maker, george foreman grill, etc) would be thoughtful.
If you want to do a gift card, get one from bed bath and beyond, target, linens and things, macys, or another home store
And I don't know anyone who would turn down cash, I know if I were paying for a wedding I'd appreciate it :)

Maybe like pots and pans or something that she could use when she's married. Maybe lingerie.
