You were diagnosed when your lupus was having a flare and now the flair has died down and your blood work is normal. Congratulations. You are fortunate. Hopefully it will be a long time or never before you have another flair but SLE is not curable. Your Dr can do blood work that will help him predict when a flare is about to start but otherwise you would just have to look out for new symptoms to tell you when a flare is imminent. I would not stop taking your meds unless your Dr was ok with this. Enjoy your break.

Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic, multisystem, inflammatory disorder of probable autoimmune etiology, occurring predominantly in young women. Common manifestations include arthralgias and arthritis; malar and other skin rashes; pleuritis or pericarditis; renal or CNS involvement; and hematologic cytopenia. Diagnosis requires clinical and serologic criteria. Treatment of severe ongoing active disease requires corticosteroids, often hydroxychloroquine, and sometimes immunosuppressants.
There is no cure for SLE. Treatment is aimed at controlling symptoms. Your individual symptoms determine your treatment.
