Yes I believe in speaking in tongues because I'm usually doing it every time I leave a bar.

When I first was baptized in the Spirit, my hands shook for two days. Occassionally during worship, they still might shake. Yes, I agree it's a little strange at first, just remember the source. In case you haven't experienced it yet...let me give you a heads up - if you are around or hear someone speaking in tongues it may ignite your Spirit and you may begin speaking in tongues without any warning. Remember the prayer language is a powerful gift and use it as such. Many blessings!

You bet! It is one of God's spritiual gifts. Speaking in toungues is your personal prayer language to God. Think of it as your spirit speaking what your mind cannot express. It is a wonderful gift and should be used. Some churches have open services where everyone speakes in tounges. I however believe that the gift is a personal prayer language and should be used with care in groups. Visiting many churches, I still do not like services where new believers or visitors come in and hear nothing but gibberish! Chaplain Debby Hawkins

yes, speaking in tongues is a personal spiritual gift God gives you. I've heard a lot of times people can do it one time when touched with the Holy Spirit and then never again but some can keep doing it.

No, I believe in Jesus.

I engage in speaking in tongues.

It's in line with Scripture. Have you ever read the second chapter of Acts? Actually, go through the whole book. Take your time, and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God's truth to you as you read. Pray in tongues every day - it edifies the Spirit.

Be blessed.

when it's done outside the "church" it's called being possessed by the devil..... every see the exorcise..... but in the hands of the christians it's called speaking in tongues.... the devil must be quite desperate... his own are now having mental break downs but I'm sure he's happy to know that the blind faith is still holding on.... they call a curse and an illness a blessing.... be careful the shaking can turn into an epileptic seizure... but then again the christians have found a way to rationalize that too as something positive like a gift...

Yes, the Bible talks about speaking in tongues. But it also says there's a time and a place for it; usually it's a private thing, because it's not really edifying to the body of Christ. Other people can't understand what you're saying when you speak or pray in a tongue. So the Bible says if you don't have an interpreter, you shouldn't use tongues in a public worship service.

Yes, I do. The experience can barely be described in human words.

If you're for real, my heartfelt congratulations.

PS: I disagree with the person who said it's from the devil and to ignore it. In my own experience and from what I've seen others do, anyone who "babbles" in tongues ends up praising the Lord in English (or their own native language) afterwards. And the Bible says no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

I believe people do speak in tongues, my wife says that I have done so a few times during our marriage but I have no way of proving this for she heard me however I do not have any retentions of these events. Too many people say they have or others so one should always be careful when doing so it is said to always have someone to interpret for others what is being said if not to take the individual out of the service till this passes. Remember Satan knows many ungodly ways himself.
