The fact is ALL BIBLE SCHOLARS will tell us in all their bible versions that the bible that we have today is a book made by men full of inconsistences, interpolations, additions and deductions. That the bible as a whole can not be taken as the Word of God!
Yet SOME BIBLE SCHOLARS will still tell us that even though it is man-made and full of errors, it is still inspired and thus can be used for religious instruction.
Nevertheless MANY PREACHERS who do not know Greek or Hebrew or Aramaic tend to dismiss the Bible scholars' assessment. They insist that the bible as a whole is a Word of God. With the errors and contradiction that they read, they close their eyes and just hope no one will ask them about those.
And yet there are also those who know that the bible is corrupt but try to hide it from the general congregation. Anyway if they try to point to the congregation that the bible is not the Word of God, believe me less than 1% of the congregation will understand him. This is the effect of "brainwashing" of the Christian minds for 2000 years. They are made to believe that the bible is the word of god without question and those who question this before were labelled as heretics- burned on stakes, killed and murdered. That is why in this present age many Christians are becoming atheists after reading the bible because their intelligence can not just accept the irrationality and illogicality of the bible's teachings and violent stories. You can read their, the ex-Christians, writings on www.evilbible.com!

The real problem is, and most Bible scholars would agree, that the word of God manifested in the Bible is so perfect and flawless, it is like putting a perfectly sharpened sword in the hands of people that have no clue how to reel a sword. Then watch them try, what a mess, and get out of the way or you will think the Bible is a mess too. All proposed errors are from the reader, not the text. Study harder and get better, and more in depth study material.

Sometimes I wonder if people are worshipping God or the Bible. The Bible talks about human's struggle and relationship to divinity, but it is not the same as that divinity, just a written record of it. There are all kinds of figures of speech in the Bible, in fact it can be quite poetic. It is the higher truth we are all seeking about God.

No, sometimes you have to see what it means. Jesus spoke in parables and they have a meaning, they are not taken literally. Think of English class at school. Say poetry for example. You would read it but you had to work out the meaning behind the sentence.

If i didn't make sense to you, why worry about it? If you want it to make sense to you, maybe you could try out a couple churches and talk to a few pastors. Pastors would probably have a better way to explain things to you. But that's only if you actually are interested in finding out what you read REALLY means to people who believe The Bible is true.

He didn't know his Bible well. Many of us don't, and then we go street witnessing half-****** or with limited ammunition. That kind of witnessing gives the rest of us a bad name.
I encourage everyone to read the Bible and draw their own conclusions. Then we can sit down and discuss it like well informed people. There's no harm in that.

I think, or to be more clear, Jesus him self would not understand the bible which is in the hands of people now.
To believe you have to use your mind, you can't believe in something you don't understand.
and all what they say at church is believe just believe.

DB hard to answer without quoting the scripture some verses are meant to be spiritual which cause some problems as spiritual understanding comes from revelation of God.

It's hard for us to understand the exact meaning sometimes because of how they thought of things differently than we do today. It's hard to make sense of here but if you were there it would make a lot of sense. That's true with a lot of things in life, you have to be able to put yourself in others shoes sometimes to truly understand.

Ask them about trinity, I basically got a different answer from each priest/preacher I met.
Their final answer to my question is:
1 - You just have to believe.
2 - It is something beyond our understanding.
3 - Ignore my questions and say: human/body/spirit but one, whats there to not understand!!
