I've been seeing alot of very negative energy from some atheists lately. I saw one write that all religions are BS. What's wrong with Budism? It doesn't go against athiest belief. and one was ripping on a lady for believing in ghosts. There is some proof for ghosts and none against. So whats the general atheist veiw point there? It seems like there's a vibe going around that's "I'm always right." It reminds me alot of another cetain group on here. I hope this is a select few and not a growing trend.

Proof for ghost includes, vidoes, pictures, audio recordings, and most importantly eye witness accounts. Yes it can all be faked but I did say some proof not rock solid proof.

How am I generalizing about atheists here? I say "some" and even say I hope it is just a select few. WTF?

I'm an atheist and people that you describe are all stupid for thinking like that. Let people believe what they want, for gods sake (no pun intended, lol). I have friends that are wiccans, satanists, christians (and atheists), but they don't care that some of us thinks differently.
((And no, satanists are NOT devil worshippers.))

Budhism does not worship a magic sky fairy for a start, so would not be considered in the same vein as islam, christianity, or judaism, a;; of which have simply spelled trouble from their inception.
So you believe in ghosts..? What "proof" are you talking about..?
It looks like you are another gullible American who was weened on ghosts, werewolves, and vampires, and therefore so easy to take the next gullible step into religion, where only the fantastical viewpoints will impress you.
Wake up and smell the coffee, no ghosts, no magic sky fairy, just the granduer of the natural world and the opportunity to understand it through the eyes of mainstream science. This is more of a gift than any religious doctrine could ever give..
You know it makes sense..!

There is no proof of ghosts anymore than there is of gods. That is just a fact and there is nothing emotional about it.
Since Buddhists (and, basically, all Eastern religions) do not recognize a God entity in the way the goat-herder religions of Abraham do, I doubt most Atheists would have issue with it.

Unverified and non-replicable under controlled conditions, those are neither evidence nor proof. There is a standing million dollar challenge for anyone who can demonstrate any paranormal phenomenon or ability. You can get the details at:

Also, there is no demonstration of such ‘evidence’ that Penn & Teller cannot perform better and more convincingly.

But there is a need when specific groups try to gain political power for the purpose of forcing everyone to share their beliefs and follow their lifestyle.
Conservative Christians want to destroy the US Constitution so they can replace America’s secular democratic republic with a quasi-theocratic fascist government based on the doctrine of their brutally judgmental and humanity-hating God.
They want to expel science from being taught in our classrooms so it can be replaced with the folktales and mythological beliefs of illiterate tribes of semi-nomadic Semitic goat herders who lived thousands of years ago and who thought that the earth was flat with air above and water below.

For the Record - this would primarily be the Judeo-christian groups. But if this makes you feel a bit defensive, you might want to get a mirror.
Quite honestly I am sick and tired of the fundy mentality. I have been putting up with the holier than thou condescending attitudes for too long. I have been tolerant and forgiving for decades.
Tolerance and forgiveness is a partnership of sorts. It requires that both parties compromise and make gestures of understanding.
Now that I have a child on the way I am far more motivated and less tolerant of intolerance. I feel liars should be called liars and hypocrites should be called hypocrites.
Afterall, every time I was telling someone "I understand your position, but have you considered blah blah blah...." I was telling a lie myself.
I choose to not be a hypocrite and to be honest. I choose to be tolerant of the tolerant and I choose to help educate those that are willing to help themselves.
As for the rest, I reserve the right to defend myself and my family from oppressive, hateful and evil behavior.

People just have to learn to chill out...and realize that everyone is entitled to their own opinions! This is after all based on people's facts that are sometimes studied or looked up, and also by people's personal experiences, as well as people's thoughts and feelings about certain issues. There is no need to bite heads off of innocent people who are just trying to answer or ask questions!! By the way...I am NOT an Atheist, but a Christian.

There are too many stereotypes.
Too often people base their opinions of a certain group on a certain number of individuals.
You've done it twice just in your question.
If I said that all black people were thieves because a black guy stole my purse once, would that be ok? Or if I said that all Hispanics couldn't speak English because I had to put up with one when I worked at the grocery store.
Those are offensive. So cut it out.

Dude,
Ghosts are as silly as God. Come on! What exactly is this "proof" you refer to?
"Inspect every piece of pseudoscience and you will find a security blanket, a thumb to suck, a skirt to hold. What have we to offer in exchange? Uncertainty! Insecurity!"
— Isaac Asimov
That said, of all religions, Buddhism (note spelling) is probably the least ridiculous primarily because it doesn't believe in a god concept.

Where is this proof of ghosts?
The only growing trend is that belief in Chistianity is going down.
Hate to live in your demon haunted world!

all and sundry is in undemanding terms "meant" to block if it somewhat is hateful, nonsensical, or in any different case slanderous content cloth. yet there is room for abuse and abuse is basic around R&S. i does not block you (or any athiest or agnostic, and so on) see you later as you had honest and significant recommendations and questions to hold to the controversy board. i'm involved by smart debate and energetic talk, see you later because it does not get unfavorable.

I'm a pagan and a Taoist as well as an atheist.
I fully accept the fact that I am bonkers. :-) The point is that I'm a happy, healthy, functional kind of bonkers.
