Paul is speaking to the Jews who left Christianity and went back to Jud ism. He's saying Christ died for their sins. If they go back to the Jewish rituals, what will they have to forgive their sins? The animal sacrifices only covered their sin, it didn't remove them Only by accepting what Christ did on the Cross could they be forgiven.

This had nothing to do with the unpardonable sin. The unpardonable sin is when the Pharisees accused Jesus of performing His miracles using the power of Satan.

This verse accompanies 6:4-6.
He can be talking about the unpardonable sin, as is refers to the Christian who has lost his salvation. It can also be a warning to young Christians to continue on into maturity or face divine consequences or it refers to Christians who have knowingly turned away from the 'light' that they admittedly received. Turning away from God after receiving Him.

It's talking about people who become a Christian and then fall away and then become a Christian and the fall away again. It's like a see-saw.
What Paul is saying here ["they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace"] is that they are blemishing the name of Jesus Christ by being a bad example. Just as Jesus was publically disgraced on the cross, he is publically disgraced when people who claim to love and follow him can't make up their minds.

He is saying that people that know better but choose to sin any way are subjecting Christ to public disgrace.

I believe he is saying that it is possible for us to lose our salvation. God will never let Satan snatch us out of His hand, but if we chose to walk away, He will not stop us. I think it's saying that there are people who begin a relationship with the Lord, and then for some reason begin to grow cold, and allow sin into their lives again. Once they turn away from God, after knowing what it was like to really walk with Him, there's no hope for them. Anyone who would chose to walk away from that will never repent.

Paul's long since stopped saying anything. I don't want to shock you, but the man is dead.
