The "law" that you refer to was a law written by the civil government of the colony and is NOT a law made in, or by the Bible. Let's use what the Bible has to say, and to not jump to conclusions by something that we read some where. Human law, such as this thing is does not bind the Bible to obedience to it. The Bible takes precedence, and is the final authority. I know that you'll not find anything such as this in the Bible itself. While the law has not been repealed, the laws of the colony are not binding on the state of Virginia today. These laws are a historical footnote on the ways of society then, and have no bearing on society now. I do have to wonder why you brought up this point of colonial law. Do you really believe that it would be in force today? If so, do the Jews still stone to death women caught in adultery?

Interesting laws from a church, which extended from the early English Catholic Church, which extended from the Roman Catholic Church, which extended from, the early Jewish Church, which were given as laws to Moses, by THE DEVIL. Only THE DEVIL would give laws or put it in the hearts of man to make laws that involve executing a fellow bretheren or sisteren no matter what they do. The Pharisees and Sadducees who commanded a woman be stoned to death, when ALL were committing adultery and did not know it and still do, were the first evil priests of THE DEVIL. "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do, he was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the Truth,...; for he is a liar, and the father of it". I know that this verse was speaking to the Pharisees and Sadducees and referring to "the LORD God" of Israel and man cannot plainly see that is what the bible is saying there or as they think Christ is saying. In fact they cannot see that in Revelation, the bible is plainly saying, that the entire religion of Christianity is one of the heads of the beast and Islam is another and Hinduism another and Catholicism is another and Jehovah Witnesses are another and Mormonism is another and Judaism is the seventh head which is the body of the beast also, the Great Whore who rides them all is the nation of Israel. Each religion has ten pilot religions and there are the ten horns. Religions such as Kaballah , Taoism, Shintoism, Confucianism, Pentecostal, Free, Baptist from the different Christian denominationals, Protestant, Lutheran from Catholicism and so forth are these horns.

The beast of Revelation, is a compilation of the uniting of all religions as one belief that all have the freedom to worship whoever and believe whatever they want and call God whatever they want. Unitarianism, I believe it is called and a quite fast growing. Man needs to stop thinking they know what the bible says and see what it is saying, because what the bible is really saying is not what man thinks it is saying at all. The bible is really saying that "the LORD God" of Israel has never been "God" or "Jesus Christ" and he is THE DEVIL. Wake up! Brethern and sisteren. Any religion that in the past or even still has death laws or enforces death laws which extended from the laws of Moses, which includes about every religion, including the sacrificing of innocent animals is of THE DEVIL. The thing is there is more than one beast in Revelation, there are four.

There are thousands of obsolete laws still on the books. In the city of Buffalo, New York, it is against the law to walk down Main Street on Sunday without having your rifle in hand.

Nobody is punished for missing church anymore, in Virginia or anywhere else - except maybe some James Jones-type commune.
