THATS AWESOME ! I WISH I COULD AFFORD THAT! WOW!
i love animals :D i payed 400 for my cat, hes a chartruex, (a french mousing cat) and i love him. but im not a very wealthy person. so this is the most i could pay, but i always feel guilty becuase somewhere there is a stray cat whom i could have taken into my house, and gave a wonderful home, but instead i went and bought a 400 dollar cat, who would have gotten a good home anwyas, becasue he is quite an expensive cat.

A well bred pure breed dog often costs more than a thousand. If you are paying that much for a pet store dog, please think about what you are doing. Those puppies cost a lot but are badly bred and the price is so high to keep the puppy mill going.
I personally would not pay a thousand for a mixed breed.
I just read an answer that said something about paying a price higher for a designer mutt than a champion? A champion costs a heck of a lot more than a thousand, honey. Try $10,000 for a champion.

She is not a designer breed.. She is a mixed breed dog, just like the rest of them at the shelter.. She is worth the cost of an adoption fee.. The person who overcharged you for a mixed breed dog, pretending that it was a dog that was more special than any of the others, is unethical and should be shot.. You can love her all you want.. But when you want another one just like her.. Don't support the puppymill you got her from, go to the shelter and get one, there are hundreds just like her there that are looking for a home where someone will love them and think that they are priceless..

I agree with LX V.. I was starting to believe you and understand how you feel, coz I paid $500 for my dog too and I didn't care coz I fell inlove with her too, but to say at the end that she's a designer breed seemed kinda wrong.. remember that you a getting a live being, not some purse.. make sure that the reasons you're getting here is in line with the fact that you're gonna love the dog unconditionally and not just coz she's expensive and a "designer breed"..

LOL, breeders must just LOVE you! You'd pay prices higher than a champion dog for a mixed breed mutt?
It's your money, but you really should check around. Designer breeds are still mixed breed dogs and can't be shown, they can't be registered with a pedigree. A pedigree championship dog is in the range of $800. Why on earth would you consider $1,000 ok???? If you have it to burn, fine, but you better not complain about it later because nobody's going to give you any sympathy for being out that kind of cash.

i was hoping you would say something like she comes from top lines and you're hoping to show her or something that made sense like that. money doesn't matter if you don't care you're supporting a backyard breeder or puppy mill. if you don't care about dogs that live in filth and are simply bred to make money for the owner then go ahead. because by you paying this price you are encouraging this breed to keep on keepin on. the only way to slow down the production of poor quality puppies and the horror the breeding parents go through is simple. stop buying them. and it's not a designer breed. unless a dog club has recognized this mix of breeds to be a true individual breed that servers a specific purpose you are buying a mutt. simple again. nothing wrong with it, but i bet you could fall in love all over again in every shelter across america for this same mix. and they are there because of the types of breeder you are going to support. if you don't mind the very good possiblity that this pup may have serious health conditions her entire life that will cost more than hundreds, and way over what you paid, to keep her comfortable, but she may never live a long happy life, then go ahead. if piles of fly and maggot infested dead dogs and puppies in puppy mill yards or happy tail wagging, face licking puppies being put down doesn't affect you in any way. then by all means follow your heart.

By buying one of these "designer breeds", you are keeping puppymillers and backyard breeders in business by buying their mutts. Would you pay the same for a Timex watch as you would for a ROLEX? Would you pay the same for a Toyota as for a Ferrari? It is the same with a dog. Don't pay 10 times more than what a dog is worth. Yes they are dogs and members of our families, but there are plenty of mutts in shelters available at a fraction of the cost. Don'y Buy into the "designer breed" fad. These people are crooks.

When you asked your previous question I didn't know she as a 'designer breed.' You can do whatever you want, but we are hear to help advise you. I would advise against paying $1000 for a mixed breed dog. Especially when you can pay $100 for a dog who is the Same Mix, and sitting in your local animal shelter. Millions of dogs die every year in animal shelters. It is up to us to adopt them. Most designer dog breeders are puppy mills or backyard breeders. You can do some research to find out what puppy mills are, they are horrible places....
Try looking at this website: http://www.petfinder.com ALL of these pets need loving homes....

If you could see what the dam (mother) is going through, I bet you'd quickly realize why people object. The breeders of so-called "designer dogs" breed for money. Since the scam worked, you can bet her dam will be pumping out litter after litter...not living a happy and healthy life. She only has one life...and it will be spent being a breeding machine. Mills are horrible! Dogs are living creatures, not shoes or ATMs.

My English Mastiff with AKC papers was about that. I would never pay that much for a mutt. What is a "designer breed" as in something someone put together like puggles, I don't believe that AKC accept designer breeds.

When you buy a dog from a breeder, you are just lining the pockets of a breeder that breeds for money. Breeders are known to repeat their breeding methods with no regards for the animal because all they want is the cash. Many females die because of over breeding. It's a bad, bad scene.
If you want to do something that really counts, try adopting from your local animal shelter, it's much more rewarding to save a life and have a friend for life.
