It is not me with this problem, it's my friend. He was not giving them on purpose to anyone, I guess that was just too high of a limit for loss prevention.

I think (?) anything that high would be considered a felony, but it could be $5000 before that's the case. If you have a clean record, you may get off with probation or very little jail time if any. Depends on how hard the company decides to prosecute. For that amount, it may not be worth their time and money if it's a large company, but remember if it IS a big company, they have limitless resources at their disposal.

Think in the future before you do something that stupid. I would worry more about that being on your record. Who else do you think will be willing to hire you with that in consideration. Also, it's not your company and therefore not your money to discount. Very irresponsible.
