I'm female, 14 years of age, and I'm 5'1 and a half feet tall. Schools going to be starting in another month, and I'm wondering if there are any quick ways in gaining a few inches. My desired height is alteast 5'3- thats 1 and a half inches more than my current height. Any taller would be wanted, but I accept that I'm still growing. My parents are average height, and I know about eating habits.

Thanks a lot- I'm entering my freshman year, and I don't want to be pictured as the 'short girl' for the rest of her high school years. Thanks!

Dont frett, thats exactly my problem, except for the fact that im only 5'3 and ive been growing eversince, but i realized i havent been growing lately. And can you imagine all the people around here are a lot taller.

It mostly depends on genetic reasons, and you rintake in calcium, maybe you need to take more calcium, like try eating yogart, ice cream, cheese, milk, stuff with calcium, or even take calcium supplements. But another thing-they say basketball makes you taller bc with all the jumping, but thats just what most people say. And by the time you dont even know it, ur going to be as tall as you wanted to be. So dont rush it, you have a span of until 19 years old until you stop growing basically. Good Luck!

If you are still within the growing age then perhaps you can add a few inches by eating a balanced diet and leading an active life. A nutritious diet that includes fruits and vegetables, dairy, cereals, meat, and plenty of water will aid the natural process for enhancing height. A good and proper night’s sleep is also essential for the growth process. Taking part in active sports along with some stretching exercises can have a cumulative effect on human growth. There is not much we can do to grow taller after puberty. There are many products in the market today that claim to increase height of adults, but they are all scams without sufficient scientific evidence. Surgical options, though available, are EXTREMELY RISKY and of course expensive. This leaves us with basically two options.

1. Stretching Exercises: - These exercises will help you improve your posture. You’ll be surprised that how much of “Height” is hidden behind your slouched back. You can, at any age, add an inch or two of height by simply improving your posture. Follow the link below for information on specific height enhancing exercises:

2. Second, you can create a “Taller” effect by following some smart fashion techniques. You can easily add another inch or two of “illusionary height” by improving your dress coordination. The link below can provide some input on height increase through fashion effect:

Good luck

I'm sorry girl, but I don't think there's really much you can do! I just saw the doctor yesterday in fact, and he told me that girls usually stop growing just 2 years after they start their period (so that kind of gives you an idea of how much more time you've got to grow, if any at all). The doctor predicted me at 5'4", but I didn't make it. I'm 5'2" and a half (I managed to squeak a last inch when I was about 14, so there's a littl hope!). But you know girl, it's not terrible being short! You can wear as high of shoes as you want and still date whomever you please! (that paid off for me, my ex was only 5'7"- yes, short for an 18-year-old guy- but I was still able to wear my 4 inch platform shoes on dates with him!

My mom is 4' 11"...my Dad is 6'3". The doctor told me that I'd probably end up somewhere in between there. (It's not fair, both my little sisters are hitting 5'6" and 5'9, and they haven't even hit highschool yet!!)

Don't worry about it! Most guys like short girls better . . . . Anyway, there isn't a thing you can do about your height even if it were a good idea. Which it isn't. You're just fine the way you are. Good night!
