I am broken hearted to know that the world I live in has little compassion for those who are unable to help themselves. I know that when I come across a homless person I go out of my way to help or to talk to them. When I see people who look at them disgust wether the homeless person sees the hate I personally angst for them. I saw a woman do just that walking out a store, she happened to be wearing a gold cross with stones. I could have said nothing but I cant keep my mouth shut. and quoted Ghandi "I love the teaching of christ, but for christians I would be a christian" I know its not just christian but people in general who treat the homeless as if they deserve what they made. I cannot help but wanting to be kind to these people who hurt sooo much already. Faces of hurt and anger make me feel lost in this world. I need encouragement.

The stigma is that homeless have put themselves in that situation, that they are lazy and simply don't want to work (and in some cases that is true). I think ignoring the homeless is sort of a childish manner of dealing with the problem. "I can't see you, therefore you don't exist" Ignore the problem and it'll go away, magically fixing itself.

Ultimately, you do what you feel is right. If someone else sneers and pretends to not see someone, that's their choice. You can attempt to enlighten, but from experience 'drive by englightment' doesn't work well.

The homeless in my neck of th ewoods run their very own little community, I observed one drop an illustration while somebody honk at him and get right into a automobile, so he oviously had pals that he worked with cut up the money. some homeless that stay in the back of the beer production unit with the aid of our church, in basic terms come and brake into automobiles in our church parkinglot, oh path i'm assuming, yet i might purchase them foodstuff and not provide them funds. as for the mentally ill, we help my sister-in-regulation who's disabled and that i attempt my ultimate to maintain my brother on incapacity (becaus e of a psychological ailment) with groceries. I do see mentally ill who're homeless walkign around chatting with themselves, while the government grew to become them out on the streetsm properly they left them to their very own loss of life, I don;t know why their families won't shield them, mine took care of my brother till he beat my mom up. i exploit to be atheist.

They do this because they are afraid. They are repelled by what they fear most, losing their own health, wealth and mind. Unfortunately, their fear is robbing them of their own humanity. In this way they are the disabled of the world, living a dry and very poor life, with little hope of attaining more than material goods.

I think you are so wrong.

The world I live in gives of itself 100 fold when there is a need.

Look at what happened after 9/11 and the Tsunami.

You're not paying attention....we are a very giving and compassionate world as a whole.

One day the last will be first and the first will be last, I'll bow to them then as I bow to them now. The harder life is on a person the more respect I have for them.

They seem beyond helping. If we owned our own land we could build a building, grow some crops etc. But when you can't save enough for yourself you turn them over to shelters. And they're gonna have it rough in those places...

Unfortunately there is still much stigma attached to those who aren't like the rest of us and it's not fair. Just keep doing what you're doing and leave the rest to God.
