I was making a stovetop version of meatloaf and I added the tomato sauce BEFORE I browned my beef. Now the beef has been cooking for a half hour and still looks really soggy, but brown. Is it still SAFE to eat or do I need to toss it and start all over?

It's safe the way it is, but you could try this:

Take the loaf out of the sauce, dry with a paper towel and stick on a baking tray, shove into a hot oven until you get the outside texture and colour you want. Then put it back into the sauce and voila, no-one will ever know you stuffed up lol

Yes it's safe to eat. One good idea would be to turn it into chili. Add some ground red pepper and a sliced onion, a can of beans.....I like the black beans best and you have a good easy meal. Serve it over rice or elbows for a treat.

its still safe but you will have alot of grease. cook it , rinse it , put it back in the pan. Add more tomato.
