I suppose if some medical doctor raped one of his patients you would vilify the entire medical profession.

What a destructive thank you to die. the guy performing the exorcism, maximum probable believed he became 'doing God a provider,' yet in fact, became the two schitzophrenic, on some form of medicine, hence hallucinating, or so caught up in some warped religious cult, that he quite believed the female became possessed. despite the case, why in the international became the female's 19 300 and sixty 5 days-previous mom, who i anticipate is the guy's daughter, in the room, bare and bloody? there became of course some thing very sinister happening- perhaps he'd executed an exorcism on her first, or raped her . . . or who the hell is familiar with? religious hysteria ends up in all varieties of outstanding happenings, collectively with this occasion. What i want to be conscious of, is what in the international takes over somebody's recommendations to the factor the place they warfare to strangle a newborn, in the call of exorcising so referred to as demons? If there have been any demons in touch, they little question resided straight away interior that guy. via demons, I recommend he became demented.

I saw that story in the paper today. It's appalling that a mother and grandfather could do that to a three year old girl!
I expect that no religious person would condone the behavior, and many would say something like "real Christians don't believe in exorcisms", but this is a real example of how delusional people can become from religious thinking.

That is a horrible thing. I am a Christian, and have never seen an exorcism. Don't put down all religions because of this incident. The man was obviously insane.

KEVIN: If you attempted an exorcism on someone, would you be necessarily "follow God"? I mean, this guy was a loose "canon" - a nut ! How many children die each year because of "your mythical gods"? Perhaps you need to view from this perspective. Did God intervene and save this 3 year old girl from this Satan (demonic) inspired nut posing as a representative of God? Think about it !!!

This is in no way related to the teaching of Jesus Christ - no matter what the perpetrators of this CRIME claim. Traumatizing children is satanic not Christian.
Many things are done in God's name that are certainly not of God - but, then, I'm sure you already know that.
I pray that this child is protected from these people - forever.

Isn't this awful! What is wrong with people, to hurt a child in the name of some god. It's a sickness.

Exorcism's happen all the time, it's sad like the emily rose story. I feel bad for the kids who are taken over by spirits/demons that want revenge it's not fair... :/ I do believe in them but you don't choke a 3 year old who was recovering from one.... it's just wow. I would bring hr to the hospital and put her in a sponge room so she can't hurt herself... it's sad. it's all because of negitivity, and revenge... :(

Exorcisms are conducted by many main-line faiths. To an Atheist like me, they are abuse and criminal. Most religous people try to disassociate themselves from this ugly arm of their own religion, but to me, they cannot. As the saying goes; you are judged by the company you keep. Here are additional links about "exorcism deaths." It is not a complete list, for sure, and do not include exorcism abuse where death was not the final outcome. I googled "exorcism deaths."

Here's what is said in wiki:
Anneliese Michel (September 21, 1952 - June 30, 1976) was a German college student who died during an exorcism. Her parents and the two Bavarian priests who carried out the exorcism were later convicted. The movies The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Requiem were based on her story.
Kyung-A Ha was beaten to death in 1995 in San Francisco, California by members of the Jesus-Amen Ministries.
Kyung Jae Chung died in 1996 in Glendale, California from blunt-force trauma inflicted by her husband (a reverend) and members of the Glendale Korean Methodist Church.
Charity Miranda was suffocated with a plastic bag in 1998 in Sayville, New York by her mother and sister, during a Cuban Voodoo exorcism ritual.
Korean woman Joanna Lee died in early December 2001, during a violent and prolonged exorcism performed in Auckland, New Zealand by Korean church minister Luke Lee. Her decomposing body was prayed over for several days before authorities were notified. During his subsequent trial, Luke Lee claimed that Joanna Lee would rise from the dead in a few days. Lee was imprisoned but has appealed the conviction.
Terrance Cottrell Jr., an eight-year-old autistic child, died of asphyxiation in 2003 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin during an exorcism carried out by members of the Faith Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith, in an attempt to expel the boy's demons. The coroner ruled that the boy died "due to external chest compression" as the part-time pastor lay on top of him. On July 10, 2004, the pastor was convicted of child abuse.
In 2005, Maricica Irina Cornici, a 23 year old Romanian nun, who had previously received treatment for schizophrenia, heard voices telling her she was sinful. She was subjected to exorcism allegedly conducted by 29-year-old Daniel Petre Corogeanu, an Orthodox monk of the Holy Trinity convent in the nearby village of Tanacu. Cornici was bound to a cross, gagged with a towel, and left in a cold, dark room without food or water for three days. Initially it was believed that she died of suffocation and dehydration during the exorcism. However an autopsy carried out on the exhumed body showed that she died of an adrenaline overdose mistakenly administered by a medic.
And of course, the one you linked us to:
In 2007, Ronald Marquez, a grandfather of a 3-year-old girl in Phoenix, Arizona, who was found by the officers while choking his granddaughter during an exorcism, was subdued by the officers with a stun gun after a struggle. The grandfather was stunned multiple times and arrested. He initially appeared normal, then stopped breathing at the scene and could not be revivied. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The mother who was found naked and bloody at the scene was not arrested, but criminal charges are to be considered. The girl was released to relatives.
