Protein bars you buy in the store are basically candy bars with protein. Same for the shakes. If you want to lose weight, start counting calories and working out. That's the only real way to lose weight. Oh yeah, and make sure you eat only healthy food. Fruit, whole grains, lean meat, stuff like that. Good night!

I am a weight lifter. I drink about 2 protein shakes a day. Now most protein shakes have lots of calories so drinking them while trying to lose weight is bad. Now eat nutrigrain bars. Those are healthy, and while losing weight your body will become more trimmed . It will be more defined without looking manly.

Sure. Any source of protein will help you preserve muscle mass while helping you burn fat (not just protein shakes). Instead of the shakes, you could eat eggs or lean meats. Just be sure that you count the calories in them toward your daily total.

As long as you're replacing other calories with them, i.e. not adding extra calories.
