i lost toooo much weight because i'm breastfeeding and i would like to gain some pounds. the clerk at GNC recommended protein weight gainers. i told her that i am not going to lift weight and that i breastfeed, she said it's ok.
is it really ok? unfortunately i can't go talk a doctor because of NO INSURANCE, well that's another problem americans indure. please help.

I wouldn't trust the clerk at GNC about this if I were you. The weight gainers probably have a customer service number on the bottle or their website or something. You could try calling them and asking.

But it probably doesn't come up very often. Most women gain a lot of weight during their pregnancy, and want to lose weight afterwards when they're breastfeeding.

I don't think I would if I was a woman, because there could be artificial sweeteners in those drinks. The fact is that we really don't know how safe substances like aspartame and sucralose (equal and splenda, that is . . . ) are in the long term. If you want to gain weight, you can always just eat more actual food. Good night!

pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be

When I was trying to gain weight, I would make shakes with soy milk, yogurt, bananas, and strawberries or whatever fruit I had handy! I would drink it at night. All of those items would be good for both you and your baby!
