Well it shouldnt be important but it is!
It is important because most whites that are into other groups KKK,skinheads, etc. claim that Jesus is telling them they are the better race and all that jazz, so if they really paid attention about the region and knew what the hell they were really talking about they would know that Jesus could not have been what they claim him to be, or look like they claim him to look.
I am a black woman and wish i could say Jesus was black, but Jesus was a jew and from that region, he surely was not white.

Skin color matters to those who would like to abuse that feature for their own benefit. Jesus was and is the greatest human to ever walk this earth. I am white, and I would love jesus just as I do now if he was every color except my own. He is the lord, and the greatest, and will always be the greatest, in that his skin color had absolutely nothing to do with. His spirit was the factor in which made him great, as well as his love for us, and all of mankind. Jesus is in us all, and to contaminate his memory by placing importance in his skin color is both foolish, and ignorant.

Jesus came to save those who were lost, not to be a center for racial bigotry, He certainly did not push others away because of the color of their skin, and by the way, it is the color of THE BLOOD, and for all out there putting in their 2 cents, WE ALL HAVE RED BLOOD, AND THAT WAS THE COLOR OF THE BLOOD THAT FLOWED DOWN JESUS' FACE WHEN HE DIED TO SAVE US ALL.

It makes a difference to a racist. A lot of religious people tend to be racist so this issue comes up regarding Jesus. If Jesus is white he's important to white people. If he's black, he's all of a sudden important to black people. It's not the most absurd thing you'll come across in the subject of religion.

A great big AMEN! The Bible states that there was nothing about Jesus' physical appearance that would cause anyone to desire Him. His looks were not important then, and they should not be important now. Peace.

I veiw people as just that,...people. No matter what his skin color, I spent his life teaching the word, not teaching about his skin.

I agree completely. I've heard people argue back and forth about the color of his eyes. It's just as ridiculous.

It doesn't matter. And the reason people do that is because they just want to start arguments. Especially because they know that it will stir people up. Anything to make christians angry.
