It's been quite some time since I've been to church or anything, but if I remember correctly, the word of wisdom is in the Doctorine and Covenants. Did they recently move it or something? Or are mormons really that clueless about their own religion?

You are correct...the Word of Wisdom is found in D & C. The thing is, most versions of the Book of Mormon also include Doctrine & Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price after Moroni (the final book of the BOM). While we differentiate between the texts themselves, they are often all included in the same version of the book.

I guess that is why some LDS cite scriptures from the BOM loosely. Even though the specific scripture may be found in D & C, it's still found in the same book as the BOM.

whilst It became gained, the Lord basically meant it to be a recognize "awareness". in spite of the shown fact that, the adult men have been chewing tobacco in the temple and spitting it in spittoons, and on occasion missed. That became regarded on with very much of trepidation. as a result, the church voted on it to make it a revelation particularly than a recognize awareness. on account that Alchohol and tobacco are or have been in the suitable 5 killers of human beings. and alcohol, between the justifications for the smash up of families and and merchandise costing a ton of money in some families. It made good experience to make it a commandment. Caffein isn't so valuable, yet is the worlds maximum used drug and is addictive. My ex started on Pepsi's at age 21 and could not make it greater suitable than a pair of hours without one. it is how terrible that one is. I quite have met many human beings addicted to espresso and had to have one continuously. Why does not a nicely reported individual want to stay faraway from those issues. And the ensures given in the recognize awareness are astounding. Christ did drink wine, yet grape juice became referred to as wine then, so i don't think of he ever have been given out of hand.

FYI. The mormons can twist things around, the scripture I have provided int he bible, says that mormons have no need for temples, this is in a christians KJV or NIV or whatever translation, this is also in a mormon KJV Bible, th emormons use it for the word of wisdom, as their body is a temple and therefore no tea, no soft drinks, no drugs, or smoking ect. Word of wisdom scripture, instead of what it mean, no temples.
1 corinthians 6: 16,19
Know ye not that ye are the TEMPLE of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
What? know ye not that your body is the TEMPLE of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Ya I think you might be on the right track. the book of morman is new though they claim on of the hebrews from way back in the day came over to america with uhh the tablets of faith or somthing like that then they lay hidden for a long time untill a 100 years or so ago when an angel gave them to Joses Smith. And he started mormanism, compiled the Book of Morman, and they all moved to Utah. then they wanted to become part of the USA so we told them if they wanted that then they had to quit taking 20 wives. And here they are now.

Now as for the books of wisdom for christians that would be proverbs But as far as what Jesus said he told us to " believe no new testament ( after his)" so thats all I need to know. hope this helps.

As an ex-Mormon, I am surprised so many are not able to site their own religion correctly. That is one of the things Mormons are highly indoctrinized about. What's wrong with being a points whore?

The "I haven't opened the book; but, by Gawd/Allah I can sure judge you by or quote something kinda similar!" crowd exists in Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. (See fullofideas4u in this Q&A)

Being an uninformed advocate is like a platoon sergeant barking, "Charge!" to his soldiers and not indicating a position to take. It makes him look ineffective and illiterate.

We do it too. Sorry.
