my eye doctor said i have a condition where my cornea could seperate from my eye (like in layers). its common in nearsighted people, and the layers will break apart if your eye recieves a severe blow. it starts with an 's'--maybe pronounced skeesia. does anyone have any information on it, ro know what it's called?

Something's amiss.

There is no common condition of nearsighted people causing the cornea to split into layers.
(If the eye receives a severe blow, *everyone's* eye is in trouble!)

Beyond that I'm into informed speculation

My suspicion is that the reference is to the retina, not the cornea, and the condition is "schisis"
In the UK it's almost always "retinoschisis"

Be careful researching this on the internet as the main interest appears to be on a rare genetic degenerative form of the condition.
Beyond the initial assessment to differentiate between retinoschisis and retinal detachment, usually only regular monitoring is required (at normal eye check intervals) to ensure that it is not progressing. It usually doesn't. Acquiring familiarity with the symptoms of retinal detachment is a good idea, but beyond that, don't worry.

Assuming I'm guessing correctly.
