what do you do while babysitting a 8 year old boy?

his and my parents are going to a funeral so it would probably be just me and him, how am i supposed to entertain him for nine hours?

just dont completely ignore him.

play what he wants you to play but dont spoil him.

1) put all the cushions in the house on the floor and teach him how to fall safe - then play at judo throws. 2) paper plane fight 3) bake - ask him what he wants to make and eat (probably cake) 4) dares, or truth or dare 5) boxing 6) teach him chess 8) knuckles or thumb wrestling 9) noughts and crosses - if he is good at that then play go. 10) lego or another construction kit 11) cars - ski-electric ,radio controlled 12) duct tape him and time him escaping. 13) buy pizza bases and make a pizza 14) set up a target range 15) exercises - don't use weights.

It's great to play a game with him or watch a video together, but he is also old enough to keep himself occupied (while supervised, of course). I can't imagine an 8 year old boy who wouldn't prefer to just play with his toys by himself for more time than he wants you to play with them, with him! Bring a book!

Well most boys like any outdoor activity like bike riding, swimming, water balloons, basketball-even kids who arent into sports like to throw a basketball around. You can watch movies, play video games and let him do what he wants to (within reason). Get him to help make lunch and have a picnic. (or go to McDonalds playland ).

Play whatever he asks you to play with him... tag, trucks, video games, maybe watch a movie together. He's old enough to tell you what he wants you to do with him.
