I am looking to download Ubuntu and put it on a cd but i need to get a freeware program that will allow me to burn iso images to a cd. so if someone can give me a list of free programs i would appreciate it. ALSO i need freeware that will allow me to partition my hard drive

Will sonic do the trick, if so is it better to use that or PowerISO 3.2 which i just came across while searching programs

Use the free InfraRecorder, it's even recommended by Ubuntu.

If only burning it into a cd is your aim then I dont think you need a special buring software provided you are using a Windows or MAC OS.

As far as my memory goes I dont remember I could figure out any freeware for partition. I tried to search for it as I too wanetd to partition my PC.
Yoou can try VM ware..

I recommend, for Windows, ImgBurn. It is very easy to use for burning ISO images. It's actually a terrible pity it doesn't have a Linux version.
