Doesn't matter what breed, matter, how you will teach him and treat him. If yo abuse the cat he will be mean no matter what breed he is. So, if you friendly to the kitty, kitty will pay you back with allot of love and joy. Good luck!

All breeds of cat are selectively bred to be affectionate. The nicest cats in each generation are used to breed the next. Unfriendly cats generally do not do well in shows or get bred from. There are no cat breeds that are unfriendly.

The most important thing is to make sure that a cat has been very well socialised as a kitten so get a cat from a breeder who brings up kittens 'underfoot', i.e. in the home and not in cages or cattery runs. There is a critical developmental window between the ages of 2 and 8 weeks of age and if a kitten is exposed to lots of human contact during that time they should be friendly.

Personally I think the rex breeds are very human-focused- Devon Rex, Cornish Rex and LaPerm. Sphynx also have a simlar disposition. They are too friendly to be left on their own all day as they pine, so need to be kept in pairs if the owner works.

I've had plenty of different breeds over the years (Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest Cat, Siamese, Persian, Himalayan, alley cats, Sphynx) and by far my favorite breed is Devon Rex. I currently have 2 and have had one other in the past. I will never buy another breed of cat. They are more like a cross between a child and a dog. They follow you everywhere, want to be with you (actually ON you) constantly. They play throughout their adult life. Hands down the most "cuddly" cats I've ever owned. My little white Devon, Missy, is super attached to me. If she had her way she'd be sleeping with her head and front paws over my shoulder and laying on my chest. When I take a shower (this happens EVERY morning) she waits until I turn the shower off and then jumps up and hangs on the towel hanging on the towel bar and meows at the top of her lungs until I come out of the shower and pick her up. Then she grabs onto my neck and purrs loudly. If I put her down too soon she jumps up on the towel bar again and repeats the process.

I just love Devons and can't imagine anyone not loving them. You can check them out at the web site below.

Another vote for Ragdoll breed. They act like dogs but are wonderful indoor pets. They are basically alley cats that were breed to have the friendly traits described on this page.....

I've also heard Bombay breed are similar in nature but these are black cats.

Most cats are friendly as the result of being loved and cared for properly in a home where no one tries to hurt them...

Good luck, no matter what breed you choose. Just remember every cat is an individual too so they have differences too.

Ragdolls! I have three cats and the Ragdoll ( a rescue) is by far the friendliest! She "makes bread" (kneeds her paws) all over me before settling down in my lap. She curls up on the end of the bed at night. And, she purrs so loud, sometimes I can hear it across the room!

There really is no breed that is the friendlest, all cats are diffrent, you might get a cranky ragdoll but an affectionate siamese lap cat.
It all depends on the cats past, owner and lifestyle, All cats have there own personality just like people,
It would be just like saying "Who is most friendlest Russia or china??
It all depends on the cat.

I agree that shelter kitties (mixed breeds) are the best! But if you are looking for one specific breed, I'd have to say Ragdolls. They are so cute and are notoriously affectionate and great for cuddling. They get their name because they go limp when you pick them up. I have a Ragdoll/Balinese mix and she is the sweetest kitty. She is always up for cuddling and actually gives little kitty kisses. She is a little crazy due to the Balinese in her (she can go from cuddling to racing up and downstairs in 6 seconds).

doesn't matter the breed, they each have a disposition depending on their raising and how you treat them...my cat is very friendly, when we have company over, she has to investigate and sit by them and check out their laps, and i've had cats that didn't want anything to do with visitors...go figure.
