What do you mean "now"? The Pope didn't say anything that hasn't been said continuously for 2,000 years. And incidentally, Catholics are born again Christians. Catholics were born again for 1,500 years before the plague of manmade denominational religion descended upon the earth and started tearing Christianity to pieces.

The Pope sit in the seat of Moses and claims to be ordained by Jesus, they only do this to become rich and to have men admire them, read Matthew 23.
When was the last time you heard a catholic priest spend more then 2 minutes speaking the words of Jesus Christ, and more then an hour preforming rituals. they do it some they they may seem righteous in the eyes of men.

Except that's not exactly what he said. What he said was that Catholicism is the only complete religion since it has the authority of apostolic succession. Protestant churches are still very much Christian, and there is salvation in them through Christ, but they are "wounded" in the sense of being incomplete. They don't have the authority passed down from Christ to the apostles and then to their successors, the popes.
Here is a URL to a site that will explain what the Pope said in more detail:

This born-again, Bible-believing Catholic is perfectly fine with what the Pope actually said ... which, as others have noted, is not quite as you expressed it.

+ Born Again +
Catholics are spiritually born again (and again and again) through:
+ Belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior
+ Living the Gospel to the best of our ability
+ Daily rededicating ourselves to Jesus Christ
+ Receiving new life in Baptism
+ The forgiveness of sins through the Sacrament of Reconciliation
+ The infusion of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands in Confirmation
+ Taking the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ into our bodies through the Eucharist (Holy Communion)
+ Even during the penitential season of Lent
These are a few ways that Catholics are spiritually born again. We usually just don't use those words.
+ One, holy, catholic, and apostolic +
Here is the full text of the new document that states nothing new: http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20070629_responsa-quaestiones_en.html
Most Christian denominations believe that each of them is the fullest version of the Church of Christ.
While the Catholic Church also believes that she is "the highest exemplar" of the mystery that is the Church of Christ, she does not claim that non-Catholic Churches are not truly Christian. The Catholic Church teaches:
Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.
Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.
All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

Pope Benedict has every right to express what he feels to be true.
The Catholic Church teaches that it is the True Church, but also that good people of other beliefs can please God.
The bible teaches that there is one way to the Father, through Christ.
