No recruiter lied that much. I'm thinking the answer would be no. If you screw over the Army what makes you think anyone else would take you.

ALL recruiters are big fat liars!! LOL That's their jobs. Especially Army recruiters. I was in the (ch)Air Force and my recruiter's office was in the same building as all of the other branches. It's a competition for them...which branch is gonna getcha? If you go talk to an Air Force or Navy recruiter I'm sure they can clear up whatever the problem is and enlist you in their branch with no problems. Good luck with that, and take everything they say with a grain of salt.

There is more to this story then the recruiters lies. You signed a contract. I hate to see you get in trouble.
Your best source of information would be another recruiter, regardless of branch of service.
You can contact me through this yahoo answers service and with more information I can forward the info to a recruiter I know personally.

Depends on the type of discharge, you recieved, if it's the type of discharge I'm thinking of, you can't enlist for two years after the date of seperation
Add the following info to your question and I might have an answer, how long ago did you get the seperation papers? Which service are you thinking of joining? Which type of discharge did you get (be specific on the wording)?
From the looks of it, your "long story" has a lot of the missing details needed for an appropriate answer.

You might now be able to sign up under another branch, remember your ssn is hooked with the government and when a security clearance is check it will show up. You never run, you should advised that recruiter of what you have found out and let him give and explanations Never run! always face the issue. By running you could have ruined any chance at getting into any government job or even run for office and or even getting clearance.

Maybe but I doubt it...my husband use to work as an Ops Officer in a recruiting office...when you fail to follow through or show up they say you "flaked". That is really looked down upon.

Did you take the oath of enlistment already? If not you should be okay. Even if you did, I'm betting another service would take you. Hell, the Army will likely try to fix the problem if you ask.

It would depend on whether or not the army let you out of the contract, or if you simply refused to go. If they let you out of it, then you may still be able to join another branch. If you just refused, to go, then probably not, and you may be in trouble for breach of contract.
