no less than 20-25% of the daily calories should be derived from quality protein sources. another method is to use .5-1 gram of protein per lb of lean body mass as the maximum amount.

an estimate would be something like:

270 x 17% body fat = 45.9

224 lbs of non-fat or lean muscle mass

so the maximum protein intake would be from 112-224 grams daily

* I hope you aren't planning on using a 1200 calorie diet at your size because you will slow your metabolism down to a crawl at that caloric intake
