Cordell: What this also demonstrates is that there is a Satan, who would like for people to abandon any dealings with God. Satan (also, called "Deceiver") would have people, unaware that they are "dancing to his tune" whether they believe in him or not ! I agree, that there are "religious nuts" out there. This incident makes one wonder, who has any relationship with God, that the real possessed person in this story, was the Grandfather - not the 3 year old ! Remember; there are crazy teachers, politicians, policemen, firemen, parents -etc., etc. ... and that does NOT make them all "nuts" because there are also, good ones too !

No, I have not heard this story.
Why are you linking religion to an act of a sick human being? No religion that I know of would support his thought! He was simply sick and like everyone, they always have something which DROVE them to do these acts. His was possession. Not sure why he thought that but, I am sure he was one sick man ... and still is if they do not have help for him.
So, this really is about an illness...not religion.

That person was just stupid.
Jesus never had to strangle a person in order to take out a demon from someone. Now, I'm not saying that this person had a demon, nor anything like that. But, no religion teaches to strangle in order to take out a demon.

You can't stop religion, there will always be believers.
Some people do get out of control. I feel sorry that religion can overpower them to draw to dangerous things like murder.
