I would say to hold the doctor more accountable during the first 5 years following the spectacular overturning of the horrendous Roe vs. Wade. He should know better, and he has violated ethical standards.
Then, women violators must come to the reallization that they are not above the law. This is in regard to convenience drive-thru murder, not valid abortions necessary to save the mother's life.

If Roe V Wade were overruled abortion could be made a crime but may not be. All penalties for abortion have been proposed against the doctor. Whenever a medical procedure is outlawed the enforcement is agaianst the performing doctor.
This makes illegal abortions much more likely to be performed by someone who is not a doctor. That is illegal now and nurses performing medical surgeries of all kinds have been prosecuted.
Stopping abortion is best and most effectivly done by loving and caring for the mothers. In nature every species of animal will kill it's young when abandoned or deprived.
That is your fault and you are the one that should be prosecuted.

You know what they say about assuming something!
Anyway... I don't believe that once a law is made that it can be essentially 'unmade'. However, it may be amended I presume.
The bottom line is that due to the court battle of Roe vs. Wade (http://www.tourolaw.edu/patch/Roe) abortion has been made legal. The question as to whether it is “murder” or not is debatable to say the least, one would have to DEFINE what murder is. According to the online Merriam-Webster dictionary… MURDER is…
“The crime of unlawfully killing a person especially with malice aforethought”
Well then… since abortion has been made a legal or lawful act… then it can not fit that definition?
There are some religions that believe a baby is not give it’s “soul” or “spirit” until it draws its first breath. There are others that believe upon conception it is a living human.
The truth of this matter is that abortion is not one of those clear, cut and dried areas… it is not a subject that has defined black and white areas, but instead a whole lot of gray shades.
My personal opinion is that a woman that makes that choice has made a choice that will affect the rest of her life, she has to deal with it, cope with it, and live with it… not matter how easy or hard it may be. I was not placed on this earth to pass judgment on others. I believe instead of debating the legality or right or wrongness of abortion that instead the focus should lie else where… such as in EDUCATION!
If girls and guys are educated more on the subject in ways to PREVENT pregnancy, in ways to not be PEER PRESSURED into having sex at such young ages, educated so that they DON”T get pregnant and DON”T need to even contemplate abortion is what should be focused on… dealing with abortion is like beating a dead horse… it is legal… it is done! Do something about it before abortion becomes an option!
Guys… keep your pants up, or at least be responsible… a woman does not get pregnant by herself! Girls… ya gotta know what causes pregnancy… be smart; don’t put yourself into a position where you HAVE to make such a controversial decision!
But punishment, that is not for me to decide.

So I wonder what the penalty for spontaneous abortion or miscarriage should be.
How are you gonna drag your Invisible Sky Pixie before the courts?
You people act as though women just have sex and chose to have an abortion really casually and all the time.
Abortions are the last choice a woman takes.
It's after going through the agony of decision which is not made easily or casually.
I think a weasel man has a lot of damn gall even commenting on the matter.
But y'all believe in this misogynist, paternal Sky Guy so why am I not surprised.
There are plenty of un-wanted, un-needed babies brought into this world - we need less not more.
Y'oughta try education girls how not to have children from an early age instead of restricting them to abstinence only.
Y'all have the highest rate of teen-age pregnancy in the developed world ... BY FAR.
Are your girls badder? No.
Are your girls less educated? Yes.
Has USian kultcha got sexual hangups? Yes.
I'd have a close look at the links between education and abortion before passing judgment on girls who haven't been equipped to deal with the real world.
AND at the end of it all - it is the woman who must decide for she be totally responsible for the child's well-being NOT the man.

Pre Roe V. Wade, abortion wasn't necessarily murder. It was just in most cases illegal, but not necessarily murder. Some consider it murder twice, to kill a pregnant woman, but even this is not universal.
I do doubt that Roe V. Wade will ever be completely overturned. This push comes from mostly the religious right who wish to impose their concept of morality on the entire world. They don't even understand how one can be both pro-life and pro-choice, not recognizing that one can disagree with abortion for convenience, and at the same time not wishing abortion to be a crime.
Too, I would like to know how many people opposed to abortion have ever stood up and offered to adopt a child when a woman they knew was considering abortion.
In the end though, abortion and murder are two different things, just as is capital punishment.

To be honest with you, you've picked a hard topic where there really is no right or wrong answer because you are dealing with peoples beliefs. Some believe that it is murder, some believe that it is not. Some acknowledge it is murder but given the situation they are in through no faulty of their on it may be the right thing to do.
Therefore can you really punish someone for having an abortion given that you don't know the circumstances behind the pregnancy.

I would not want to be the one to decide this. It is a horrible thing that we live with the stain of innocent blood on our hands as Americans. I pray that the day will soon come to an end.
But, like Pandora's box, something has been opened that will be difficult to shut. I think that the penalties perhaps should be lighter at first while society adjusts their thinking to want to protect life. There is so much propaganda out there that has been created to assuage guilt that many people are very deluded into thinking that there is no baby there.

abortion is murder in gods eyes, because its a life. if the law was overturned that man thought abortion was murder then the person and dr would be in trouble for murder. the penalty for mudering an innocent before its even born should be life in prison. why i say life in prison is because there is a life being taken and so the ones who take this life should be in prison all of their life to think about what they have done.

The Punishment should be nothing.
Just look at it this way . . . what if they made masturbation a crime? After all, in the Bible, that was considered the sin of "spilling seed." Isn't that the same as cutting off a potential life?
Well, men are in power now. What if women were in power, and they made jacking a crime?? Whhoooo! You'd hear the men howl than, ha, ha!
So, what gives men the right to tell women what to do with their bodies??

Assuming - that it is murder, then the penalty should be the same for any other murder.
I assume, though, that this is hypothetical, and not your belief? : - )
