After all the suggestions I got, the vet still couldn't find anything wrong with Alix. Over the weekend I ended up taking her to the emergency room. The kept her and performed a minor procedure to fix her prolapsed rectum. She is still in the hosptial. There are no parasites present and she is active and back to her old playful self. She is even eating and drinking again. The problem is she still has explosive green diarrhea. The vet says she can't figure out what is causing the diarrhea. They have her on two antibiotics, but they don't know what they are fighting.

Are there any vets or vet techs that might be able to give me some ideas about what might be the cause of diarrhea when there aren't any parasites present?

Some possible causes:

IBD--inflammatory bowel disease, lymphoma, virus like FELV/FIV (has she been tested?), fungal infection, lymphangiectasia, dietary insensitivity (is she on a hydrolyzed protein diet?), congenital abnormalites (short colon, porto-systemic shunt--has she had bloodwork done, like a full panel and CBC?). A stool sample can be sent to the lab for a culture. Some organisms can be very difficult to detect. Were radiographs done? Barium series to look for obstruction? An ultrasound might be very helpful as well.
These are just some things that can be pursued. You might need to go to an internal medicine specialist if it doesn't clear up.

My kitten has only ever had diorrhea for 2 days, but what my mum always does, is she gives him less food and more water. This way, the water just helps totally cleanse him of any waste and the less amounts of food help stop more waste being produced in his tummy.
I don't know if this will help or not though.

:]
