I’m Christian. I’m spiritual but have no religion. I don’t believe in organized religion, because to me it seems to guide people away from the path that they are supposed to be following (like thinking for ones self instead of a group). I also believe it is one of the main reasons for bigotry and hatred in the world. I follow the Ten Commandments as we’re told to in order to learn and live in the best ways possible. I sometimes want my family to be religious but then I quickly change my mind about the whole thing, because I can’t and don’t want to choose. Do you believe God intended for people to have a religion? Do you think in the same manner as I do? Do you think I should have a religion? What else?

Hey Sweetpea,
Organizeed religion was created by man - stay away. Sounds like you already know why. Appears you are on your own path with you own good ideas. You have a closeness with your diety and isn't that what its all about? God intended man to 'have God, why use a middle man? (religion) I think you are an angel, respect your mind, and courage to ask. Do your own thing.
Blessed Be

God shows organization in all His creations. His son, Jesus likewise is organized and loving especially in his Christian congregation of followers. The congregation was set up for specific benefits for its members. Associations build strength and faith along with knowledge. There is an organized work that Christians are to be doing now. That of preaching and teaching about the good news of God's Kingdom to be done in all countries of the earth.

What is important is finding the true religion of God. So many claim they are Christian but you have seen they can't be because of their fruits of bigotry and hatred. Yet, it does exist. Compare what you know about the religions with what the Bible says they should believe. That is how you will find it.

If you are really a born again Christian in whom the Spirit of God dwells then you are called to be a participating member of the family.

1 Corinthians 12:7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--Jews or Greeks, slaves or free--and all were made to drink of one Spirit. 14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? 18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you," nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you." 22 On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, 24 which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, 25 that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. 26 If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. 27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.

Romans 8:7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

It doesn't sound from what you have written like you are a born again Christian.

John 3:3 Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4 Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" 5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."

are you sure you're a Christian? do you even want to be a Christian, and do you really know what a Christian is? i'm not trying to mock you or put you down... following the ten commandments and trying to live 'in the best ways possible' is an honorable way to live, but that doesn't constitute being a Christian. to be a Christian is not 'having a religion', it's having a savior.

Religion is nothing. Having a relationship with God is everthing. Nothing else in the world matters.
Not clothes, not money, not boyfriends.
Think about heaven, when you go there, you can't take anything with you. Heaven is eternity-forever. This life is just a blemish on our time map.
God Bless!

And as the lemmings follow their leader to the sea.
How dare you think for yourself.
We have groomed our Christianity for 3000 years to have a big group of followers who will give until it hearts, and buy their way into heaven, and put you down because you dare think.

Sweetie you sound confused. First, unless you are born again you are not a real Christian. Just pick up a bible and find a bible study make some friends from their and learn.

Your question is too long and hard to answer here.
