What would be a good workout rutine to loose about 20lbs without gaining muscle (or the least amount of muscle possible)? No gym or pills, my diet is already good.

Well that is an interesting situation to be in. It always seems somewhat automatic that when a person wants to loose weight, their parallel goal is also to gain muscle mass. However, upon thinking about it, there can be instances, say like for wrestlers and such, when they need to loose weight, but still stay within a weight class – so no further muscle mass is needed.

In my purely unprofessional opinionated advice, I would say you were right to mention the pills being unnecessary because if somebody tells you that you can proceed to eat large quantities of food and taking pills will make you lose weight, that is an absolute lie. You should avoid eating junk foods, fast foods, and processed foods because they are the prime fuel for most body fat that is stored in the form of glucose inside your body. Another thing is to workout regularly – not ** only your abs ** but your full body. Can you imagine loosing weight only around your abs and staying fat in all other places? How weird, ridiculous, and gross would that be? Your body is a balanced mechanism and the only thing you have to do is to support this balance.

So doing fat burning exercises that are intensive but not necessarily big muscle builders are key. Try activities such as bike riding, swimming, long distance jogging or intensive walking, and daily simple stuff. For example, instead of taking that elevator to the sixth floor everyday for work, why not take the stairs instead. I can promise you that by the time you get to your floor, your legs will definitely let you know they were put to work - especially if this is not something you typically do. Good luck and hope I could help you at least a little in some way.

Nevertheless, before I go, I will repeat again – eat proper and workout regularly. This will make the difference here. Cheers!

decreasing the body fat requires a caloric deficit and increasing muscle mass requires a caloric excess in order for the body to remain in an anabolic state. it's near impossible for most to gain a substantial amount of muscle when there is not an excess of calories, this is even hard to accomplish for elite athletes.

If you dont want to lift weights just do cardiovascular activities. Running / jogging, biking...stuff like that. By the way recreational sports like basketball, football, soccer etc... are not considered cardio. but i do advise to at least lift some weights, the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn. Thats just my take tho...

Swimming?
Or try to vary your exercise to use all different muscles at different times, so none of them get too built up. Try a different type of exercise each day.
