My fiance left this morning at 11:30 to take a friend to the airport. This should have been a 4 hour trip, but he has been gone for almost 9 hours now. He would have called me if they stopped somewhere and traffic reports say that the highways are clear. I am extremely worried and don't know what to do. Please help!!

[EDIT]

We haven't been fighting. It is unlike him to stay gone longer than planned, he has no cell phone with him. Had he broken down, he would have made it to a phone by now and called me. He has no relatives in the state and nowhere else to go for so long. I have called our close friends and nothing...He doesn't really have any hobbies other than fishing but he didn't take any poles. He had a lot to get done at home today and would have gotten here ASAP. I contacted highway patrol and nothing from them either.

In Ohio I always had to wait 72 hours.
Your case is extreme. The police should get on it now!

Call and report him missing. Its not like TV, there is no 24 or 48 hour period. But before you do, have you tried his cell phone or office? Was he going out somewhere else? Have the 2 of you been arguing lately? Is it usual for him to be gone for hours longer than he was supposed to? Has he gotten any unusual phone calls or unexplained text messages? Did he go golfing? Is his golf bag and/or fishing equipment with him? Are all his clothes still in the house? Have you given his parents a call? Or other close relative?

You may want to try these things first and then call the police.

Does he have a cell phone??? If so have you tried calling it??
Would he call if he was going to be longer then 4 hours???
Police won't do anything until he is missing for 24 hours, but you can contact them anyway. Make some calls to friends and family if any in the area he was traveling too. Try to stay calm he might of just had a flat tire or something. I will say a prayer for him to return home safely. Please Keep Us Posted. God Bless!!

All states are different in waiting time to report a person missing. Some states differ in whether you are reporting an Adult or Juvenile. Here there is no time limit.

What time was the actual flight, maybe he was waiting with his friend, delayed flights?

If you have a fear that something happened to him, report him missing. Even if it turns out to be nothing, just report it. Some people feel that if the person really isnt missing and they report it they will get into trouble or just feel stupid. Dont think that way, if someone is really missing the faster it is reported the more of a chance to find them...Just report it, that is why we are here.

There could be many reasons why he's not missing. Flat tire delay, sudden sidetrip with a craving for Whitecastle burgers, palm reading becomes a passion after hearing a radio broadcast about a palm reader named Aurethra, or an affair.

I have no idea, don't go nuts, he's not that late. You should still be in the "oh man I'm so ticked off at him, when he gets back he's gonna get such a smack!" stage.

Call everyone who knows him and keep trying to call him. Call the airport and airlines. If he's gone for more than 24 hours and no one has a clue what happened to him it's time to go to the local police/sheriff they'll tell you what to do.

I it makes you feel any better, call a state police agency, explain your situation, and ask if they have any info about your fiance's car and license plate. They can access a database that will list all vehicles that have been involved in accidents over a given time period.

My husband once went to get his drivers license renewed, and didn't come home for 11 hrs, he forgot to tell me he was going 3 hrs away to do it. Men don't think or can't.

If there is one thing about men that I know is... they are more carefree than women. Women tend to exagerate a little about things. But it's really all up to you.
