strength-she was left a widow at 37 with 6 kids from 3-18 yrs old with a mountain of debts and resentful and interfering family members who were sure there was some big insurance policy somewhere (there wasn't) and were equally sure that the best thing for us kids would be if we were split up, with some of us living with this or that aunt and uncle...she put her foot down, kept us together, and somehow persevered-of course, she was from the generation that grew up during the depression, so she was a lot tougher than most folks today

She is so incredible. She has been there through everything in my life. I remember her and me going for the weekend, shortly after a terrible thing had happened to me, and just having the best time in the whole world. The memories of growing up around her and having her hold me close, telling me she loved me and kissing away my tears, are wonderful. I love you, mama.

That she has taken care of my brother who is severly handicapped with cerebral palsy for the past 33 years. (every day for his entire life)
