Tip: Always be sitting down while holding hamsters, especially young/jumpy ones.
But calm down. If you can pick her up, do so. Then gently feel her legs, just place a finger and thumb each side, and run it from the top to her foot. If at any point she sqeaks (more than normal) or tries to bite (if she does, don't drop her.. be prepared for it), then her leg may be broken, and you need a vet. Chance is she just had a scare, and maybe bruised herself. As for not going to the house, that's just hamsters for you. And hamsters do groom a lot. The once one of mine jumped (about a foot onto a table), she spent about the next hour cleaning herself.
If you can't pick her up, put a treat (if you know something she likes already, that's brill) near her so she can smell it, then place it about 15cm away. If she makes an attempt to go to it, watch her walking. If she seems very slow, or limps, then you'll need to see a vet.
I know this is very stressful for you, as well as her, but with hamsters, espcially new ones, accidents do happen, so just be more careful, and don't blame yourself for it too badly.
If she doesn't sppear to have anything broken, just keep an eye. If she's not more active in 48 hours, the vet it is I'm afraid.
The vet will probably just check her over. If anything is broken or hurt and you missed it (not hard to do actually) then he may give a mild painkiller for her. They rarely operate on hamsters, the risk often isn't worth it.
Good luck with your little hammie, she's young, so less likely to have broken anything anyway, and bruises heal quick. Remember to sit down with her next time. :)

She will probably be all right THIS time, since she is walking. But you have to make sure she doesn't fall anymore. Hamsters are not tough like rats. A fall of 2-4 feet can sometimes break a hamster's back. And hamsters seem to have no clue of this; a hamster will walk right off the edge of a table! So from now on be very careful; next time it could be serious. She may have a minor injury that will heal, so let her rest in the cage until you see her climb up the tube again.
Good luck.

Give her a couple of days, then look again. Hamsters are extremely tough. The babies my hamster had used to fall down a plastic tube that was in her old cage. One of them also went through a shelf and the wall, and hung by his neck for a few seconds . I had one jump out of my arms when he was little, and I am around five feet tall! I even had one jukmp out of the sales person's hands at Petsmart, and she landed on a tile floor and she is now over a year old. All of these hamsters wer just fine. If she is not acting normal then, chances are she is hurt. But right now there is a good chance that she is just stunned.

YEA the same thing happened 2 my hamster a few years ago, yea if she's walking and eating and stuff she should be alright as long as if she's pregnant then maybe her babies r died and if that happens she will likely die as well < how my hamster died!
Anyways u should leave her alone 4 a bit and if u notice that she hasn't come out of her home/ were ever she sleeps u might want 2 check on her but if she's asleep i wouldn't recommend u put your hand in her house cuss believe it or not she will bite!!!!
ask more questions if u hav any!!!!^_^

i've got had a hamster fall from his cage (which he opened) to the carpet formerly i might desire to get in there to capture him it replaced right into a tremendously good distance (i replaced into bowled over the autumn did not kill him) he in basic terms stood in one place for approximately 5 minutes (probable bowled over) then he kinda walked around in circles limping. We weren't in a position to take him to the vet because of the fact it replaced into like 11 pm and the only vet around the place we lived wasn't a rodent vet (go determine) So all shall we do replaced into placed him decrease back interior the cage and watch him. He replaced into scared for some days and limped for some days yet he have been given greater effective probable in basic terms landed on that leg and injury it.

It sounds like she might be a little sore. Small animals can often survive large falls undamaged because they are so light. Make sure she has food and water without having to climb . Then see in a few days how she is doing.
Pay particular attention to he eating and bathroom habits , that will tell of internal injuries.

Listen to this....I have a dwarf hamster and I put my finger in his cage to pet him and he bit me so I immediately pulled my finger out and he was still attached!!!! He flew out and landed on HARD WOOD FLOOR. He played dead for a minute or two, I was totally and completely MORTIFIED. I was crying forever....and he's fine. He's still alive and that incident was umm..8 months ago? So if my little cute can survive hard wood floor fall your hamster should be fine=)
