It isn't healthier, it is the same as someone who eats too much meat. A balanced diet is what is best. Find a Food Pyramid and follow it that is the healthy choice. Don't by the meat is murder crap either because Veggies are alive until killed as well. I don't think it would hurt you if you did but if you are active like working out and doing a lot of sports, you need protein and it should be natural not some powder. It might be good to limit or eliminate red meat but, Chicken, Pork, and Fish are all good sources of protein and will give your muscles the protein you need to excercise and participate in sports like martial arts or swimming, high energy activites.
The main point is balance your diet, and be active. If you aren't active no diet will help you be healthier, they go hand in hand.

First of all, a vegetarian does NOT eat fish. So if you ate fish, you would not be a vegetarian, but a meat-reducer or flexitarian.
Second, done preperly, such a diet can be healthier. Yes, veg*ans eat unhealthily, but so do omnivores. And the vast majority of the obese in this country are omnivores.
Third, you really do not need cows' milk unless you're a baby calf. There are plenty of plant-based milk substitutes that (soy milk, nut milk, rice milk) that work just as fine in recipes. Experiment to find the one that's right for you and that tastes best.

You can find studies that would support both the vegetarian/vegan side (which I lean to but don't always follow) and the carnivore side.
I know I do feel better when I am on a vegan/vegetarian diet. I don't really believe you need any meat to be healthy. If that were the case, we'd have a lot of skinny cows out in those pastures. Eating smart and cutting out meat can do wonders to bring health in line.
I also don't believe we have to have milk or milk products in order to have strong bones. I think anyone would be hard pressed to find any animals that drink the milk of another species on any consistent basis. It's one of the things in the standard American diet which can bring such illness (although milk does taste sooooooo good).
On the other hand, I know people who honestly just don't feel that good on a vegetarian/vegan diet. My advice would be to try cutting out meat for a while, eat more fresh veggies and fruits, juice some veg/fruits and see how you feel.

There is no scientific evidence that shows being vegetarian is healthier. Red meats can be very beneficial if eaten in moderation. There are essential amino acids and other nutrients found naturally in the meats marbling fats that are not found naturally anywhere else.

I don't think it's healthier. I have many vegetarian friends and they eat some of the most unhealthiest foods...oreos, french fries (as long as it's not meat). Your options are limited and you wind up eating a whole bunch of carbs.
Might I also add, like veggietart posteda little down...she is an example of a somebody who is misinformed. When done properly, a diet with meat is JUST as healthy as a diet when done properly without meat.

If you cut out meat, you cut out necessary protein. As long as you replace the protein by a different means, you should be healthy. My personal opinion is that it's healthier to eat some meat than none at all, but that's just my opinion, and I don't claim to be a nutritional expert by any means. lol

in a way it is.....and in anoder way it isnt cause if u look at our dental stucture we are equipped with canine teeth and rather blunt insicors and not 2 metion the molars and pre-molars...so we are ment 2 be omnivours.....dat is we eat both veggies and meat....ok...as i said eating a lot of veg is good but we still need a lil of animal proteins ....and eating alot of meat is bad as well.....so its best to have a balanced meal of both .....now dats healthier....
