I do not believe in any religons, i would like to because religous people have something they truly belief in, so you could say im jealous.
its more i cant than dont want to, it would be far nicer to belive in a heaven than just nothingness after death.but i just cant get my head around it, i just cant believe its true.
i heard you go to hell if you dont believe in god and follow his comandments, is this true?
my point is i cant help it and didnt choose to not believe,
so if there is a god, surely hed know as he would be my 'creator', that i wouldnt believe in him and if the above is true, would go to hell, where is the just in something that punishes you for something you cannot control and is in no way your fault? it is you choice whether to believe or not, but more a choice of which side suites your beliefs best, i think we dont have control over what it is we deep down believe.

I really cant find anything inside that tells me there is a god, and i really dont believe, so that must mean there isnt, because otherwise if what you've said were true, i wouldnt be able not to believe, because he'd be in my heart or something. the main point of the question was to help me with understanding this very thing, thankyou for taking the time to answer, my views are not meant to offend anyone and im sorry if i do.

#1. EVERYone who has ever died --& will die-- has gone/will go to 'hell', even Christ, who was dead for parts of 3 days...
The original use of the word 'hell' is Olde English for the practice of storing potatoes underground or in a cellar, not for heating them to any degree for any length of time!
The word 'hell' & the concept of eternal torment are not in the Bible, they exist only in man-made religious dogma.
"The lake that burns with fire and sulphur" means no hope of any resurrection for those 'thrown into' it" :
"...as for the cowards and those without faith and those who are disgusting in their filth and murderers and fornicators and those practicing spiritism and idolaters and all the liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur. This means the second Death. "--Revelation 21:8
Actually, there is no 'life after death', it being the utter cessation of life:
"The soul that is sinning--it itself will die." --Ez 18:4
"His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; In that day his thoughts do perish." --Ps 146:4
"All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She′ol [the grave], the place to which you are going." --Ecc 9:10
"You will ... return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return." --Genesis 3:19
#2b. ...unless / until, the dead one is resurrected.
#3. Heaven --though it is indeed there-- just 'isn't for everyone'. The only ones resurrected to heaven are those chosen to work with Christ in bringing Earth & its inhabitants to a state of perfection. These one's experiences while on earth will be of great useto them in dealing with humanity with mercy,* the majority of the dead being resurrected to life on earth, after Armaggedon.
#4. Both the Bible itself, & God himself, are misrepresented by the vast majority of religions that claim to represent & teach about them. I found that I couldn't believe what they taught either, so began searching & asking Qs, until I found those who were actually teaching Bible truth, & following Bible principles...**
#5. The reason you feel something is missing in your life, is because humankind is created with a spiritual need.#
PS: If due to a traggic error, I became seperated from my parents at birth, & received no real help from those I sought help from, to find them while growing up... And, if I didn't know who could help me, or was biased against asking or listening to them... would that actually prove that my parents didn't exist? or, that they didn't care? Even if I deeply felt in my heart that they must not, would that make it fact?

If you are God you can do things your way since you are not God then you have to live within the world that He created and either continue in sin being deceived or find the truth. You can answer the question of whether you are going to Hell or not by what you choose but one choice is Hell and the other is Heaven through Jesus Christ the only way to Heaven. No choice defaults to the state that all mankind is born into which is the sinful fallen state separated from God. It seems obvious that no one would want to remain in evil but you choose.

You have complete control over what you believe. That's not the issue, the issue is that you don't have have enough facts to determine the truth.
If I told you someone left a red bag at the southeast corner of the Statue of Liberty today, you may not know whether to believe me or not. But if you went there and investigated it for yourself, then you would have the facts and could make an informed choice.
The same is true with God. You probably don't know how much historical and documented evidence there is that shows the validity of the Bible and that Jesus is the Son of God as he claimed. Don't take my word for it, and don't be content to guess or listen to what other people say. Research it yourself and make your own decision.

Sorry James - God would not agree with your assessment.
Romans 1:19-20 tells us that God has put the knowledge of Himself in every man so that there is not on person who will be able to use the excuse they don't believe in Him.
In another verse it says that God has dealt to every man "the measure of faith." That means everyone has the ability to believe and act on it and accept Christ as their Saviour.
So you see we do have control over what we choose to believe - it is called "Free Will," and we all have it. We choose to write our thoughts in Yahoo Answers - nobody forced us to do it. That is free will. I am sure you could think of hundreds of more examples of the simple choices we make in life every day. Well the same thing holds true in the spiritual realm.
I chose to live a life apart from God for 31 years. Since that time I have chosen to live for God the last 33+ years. You and anyone else can do the same. I pray that you will.

I don't think that you will go to hell because you don't believe in God, It's more a question of if you are a good person. And even then, it's my personal believe that we create heaven and hell for ourselves right here. I also think it's not nothingness we go into... it's 'everythingness' :) We become one with the universe. Also, I don;t think that you should feel pressured about your beliefs. Let them develop over time and see what resonates best with you in the end. You only need convince yourself, and if anyone has a problem with that, well then maybe they're confused themselves! ;)
Let me add again that the above comments re completely my personal thoughts and mean no harm or insult to anyone. One love people!

"I think we dont have control over what it is we deep down believe."
The Bible teaches that God has to give someone the gift of faith in order for them to be saved.
Ephesians 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved-- 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
The Holy Spirit brings a person into God's eternal family.
John 3:7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
Ask God to give you the gift of Faith and click on the Get Saved button @ http://www.express56.com/~bromar/
Jesus said "And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" Luke 11:9-13

If you are a sinner you are going to hell. Do know your a sinner? Do you break the Ten Commandments? Ex. 20
Ever lied?
Ever stolen anything regardless of value?
Ever lusted after someone?
Ever blasphemed?
For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10
“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matt. 5:27-28
Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Heb. 9:27
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8
We all deserve hell for eternity. But God did something so we wouldn't have to spend eternity in hell. Jesus (God in flesh) lived a sinless life and was crucified for us and He rose again three days later. Jesus paid our fine to God. That way on judgment day we can go free but there is a catch. Jesus commanded us to repent. That means to turn from sin to God.
The perfect example of repentance is found in Psalm 51.
I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:3
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15
Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3
You see when you repent, God gives you a new heart and new desires and He also saves you from hell. As a result you are biblically born again!
** Ignore 2Q&Learn. He is a JW and part of a cult. He will deceive you. Just stick with the Bible and the Gospel I presented to you.

Like you, I simply cannot force myself to believe in certain things, such as heaven, hell, God, the Bible (or any holy book), demons, etc. They don't make any sense to me and are so illogical as to defy any attempt at taking them seriously. If you were to ask a Christian to believe in the Hindu gods, they'd say, "No way! Those gods aren't real, there's no way I could believe in them!" It's the same with me, like asking me to believe in Santa Claus when I know he isn't real.
That doesn't mean you don't have other options, though. If there's a Unitarian Universalist church in your area, check it out, as I hear they are completely non-denominational and very accepting of anyone, including atheists. The main focus is not on religion, but on fellowship and personal growth. I am thinking of looking up a church in my area, although I work on Sundays and probably couldn't attend their services.
Look up "spiritual atheism" and see if it might fit you. Spiritual atheists do not believe in a personal, Bible-type God, but may accept God as being a representation of all of the cosmos and nature, and identify individuals as being interconnected parts of a whole.

We all use our freewill to sin or not sin.
We use our freewill to accept Jesus or deny Him.
Please read:
Matt 25
Luke 16:19-31
Romans 3,6,10
Acts 2:21
1 & 2 Tim
If you truely want to accept Jesus (John 3:15-21):
admit your sins to Him
understand that He alone is the way to forgiveness and salvation (no person or organization can give salvation to you).
If you Read Romans 10 again and repent of your sin you will be saved.

properly, i do experience that it somewhat is pointless to declare "hell" in maximum circumstances..AND all human beings human beings do not do it. Its very generalizing. i'm American and we are actually not ALL approximately John Wayne. That replaced right into an prolonged time in the past and not in this era. we don't all holiday horses and shoot bow and arrow. it particularly is an old stereo form of human beings. Its style of asserting all Brits have undesirable tooth..not all Brits have undesirable tooth.. i assume a small inhabitants does..yet not ALL.

You will not like my answer
God calls you a lier . . . but we all are, in some way or the other . . . and there is a way to get forgivness . . .
God thinks you can control yourself, after all he created you, and thinks you are foolish if you think in your heart that there is no God. He "put" the knowledge of God in your heart, so he knows you know. But rebellion is the KEY! You rebel against the truth, and you will go to Hell.
