If someone stole something from you, what would you do to get it back? How would you find and confront the thief?

Contact the police if it's something big. If it's something small, like a yoghurt from the work fridge, I'd let it slide, but keep a wary eye on the person from that point on.

Good luck :-)

I wouldn't even think about it, I would go directly to that person and see what they had to say. If this is someone that you do not know I WOULDN'T recommend just showing up on their doorstep though. You never know how crazy some people are, especially when they feel threatened. If that is the case then I would call the police and file a report naming possible suspects (although this is a long shot as far as getting your stuff back), but if it does ever show up at least it would be on record.

i would confront the thief in a nice yet firm manner. if he denied it [and he's the agressive, crazy type ], i would just let it go; but the fact that i didn't just keep quiet about it made me feel good about myself: you know, not stooping to his level and next time, he may think twice before doing it again..though, if it was something big, serious, i would defintely get the authory involved..

Personally I would only let the authorities handle it. Confronting theives or anyone is dangerous. I would rather replace the item than put myself or family in jeopardy.

That's a hard one. It really depends on who the person that stole was. What is their relationship to you?
