I thought I'd put it on my ribs, just below the armpit, about the height of the bottom of my pectoral ( chest ) muscle. Will rubbing be a problem during the healing process?

I'm not completely decided on the location, I'd like it somewhere significant, but discreet. Any suggestions would be welcome.

They always say that it hurts like a ***** over your ribs...but it's a good spot because the skin doesn't stretch much there (like it might on your belly if you got a beer gut or something.)

I'd like to get a tattoo myself and I'd get it over my ribs...but I currently have no $...oh, well.

I'm resigned to the idea of pain. But save that spot for something big, maybe not your first tat. And not quite in your pit, maybe over the lower side of your ribs (just not smack in the middle.)

Wherever you put it, make sure to get a good look at the artist's previous work. It's permanent after all. I got one when I was 20. I didn't do enough research. I don't regret getting it, or the design i came up with, just wish I had used a better artist. When you look at it all you will see is any flaw in it. Good luck.

healing shouldn't be a problem unless you have some daily activity that requires you to do a lot of movement in the arm area or that could rub it constantly. HOWEVER the ribcage is one of the most painful places to get tattooed. what are you planning on getting? after i have kids i am definitely planning on getting both of my ribcages tattooed.

You'll just want to be careful during the healing process that you dont rub off any scabbing or flaking. Otherwise it could pull out color.

Hmmm... it all depends on what sort of clothing you wear and also when it comes to location it all depends on your tolerance for needles... I got my first one on my lower back and my second one on my upper back- both are dragons for order of protection... When my back is completed- there will be all my children and my Hubby's chinese signs down my spine for they are my back bone. On the top dragon he is holding a yin yang symbol for balance so to mix with that on either side near my shoulder blades there will be wings... One side normal and the other side burnt and falling down to my side for good and evil.. My ideas were thought out but eventually seems to have turned to a complex idea of art... Good luck!!!

well that depends on what you are getting, the size and shape of the tattoo, and your body.

if you want my opinion on it, feel free to email me.
