You have your allies and adversaries confused my friend !
The S.Koreans being held by the Taliban are people who's part of Korea are friendly to the US. Their bond with China is cordial but an ally to China, they are not.
The Taliban will be destroyed by the first country with the courage to tell Pakistan to step aside, because we're going after this enemy .

What sleeping Giant? They're kidnapping South Koreans, Chinas allied with North Korea (Not all Koreans are the same type of Korean). What's S. Korea going to do attack them with a booming economy? Or fight them with a superior medical or technological field? Give it up, S. Koreans depend on America for military aid.
Though I always assumed sooner or later the atheist Chinese would bump heads with the Islamic world in a cataclysmic battle. In the end that's one of the few things all Eastern countries can unite on, they all believe in either Athiest or polythiest ideals, which muslim exremists aren't to fond of!

No. While Korea does contribute troops to help us out around the world, the Korean people in general are very skeptical of overseas deployments of military force. Besides, North Korea has been kidnapping their citizens for decades with few to no repercussions.

China is of the mindset that they'll let the rest of humanity destroy themselves. Besides, they aren't going to mobilize troops in the desert with a chance of leaving behind any technology that could get into the hands of their arch-enemy: the U.S. They may have stolen or bought our technology but they don't want to tip their hand.
