I have said the same thing countless times. I don't discourage anyone from anything that is legal and offers them some degree of comfort. I only strike out in retaliation, I guess I am a counter-puncher.
You must admit any fairy tale makes an inviting target. Little Red Riding Hood and the talking wolf who also does impersonations of old women while dressed in drag. My grandmother was a rough looking old woman but I think I would have been able to tell the difference between her and a wolf wearing her clothes.

Because although it may make their lives better, it can make other peoples' lives worse. For example, one who learns to live a better life from the Church may end up giving money to Christian missionaries in Africa who encourage overpopulation and the spread of AIDS through their condemnation of birth control.
Those same people whose lives are "better" because they believe in Christianity are the ones who elected G.W. Bush, whose war in Iraq has killed tens of thousands of civilians.
They elected Bush in large part because of his stance on gay marriage (look at exit polls for the 2004 election, I don't have any cites offhand, but I remember this as true) which was primarily a religious issue. However, the negative impact this has had on America and the world as a whole far outweighs the good feelings that religion gives people.
My point is that I don't have a problem with religion per se, but I believe that the existence of religion (and the dogmatic adherence of some people to certain beliefs) has done more evil than good.

I don't care if they believe. I do care when they try to make laws, and enforce them, that come directly from their religion... a fine example is trying to make it illegal for homosexuals to marry. There isn't a single political or secular or any other reason to make a law like that except from the Bible. It in no way harms another person... no more than 2 consenting heterosexual adults having sex. That's when it concerns me. Also seeing them tell the schools that they can't allow books like Harry Potter, fictional books, claiming these things lead kids astray (there isn't a single study to show this except for one that was done by one church in the south)... yet cry "God was taken out of our schools" wanting the classrooms to read Bible verses and place their religion over all others. Now this one does affect me personally as me and my family are Pagans. But, as far as their personal belief goes... they are more than welcome to it... so long as that is where they keep it and not try to pass laws in our secular society that comply with their religious beliefs, taking away the freedoms of others to believe as they want and to worship as they want... or not want, as the case may be. I'm not interested in convertin anyone. I'm not worried about change, Unless it change that is for the better... such as, I would like to see minority groups not be verbally abused by other groups of people (not just Christians) just because they are different.

I don't care what others believe in so long as they are respectful to other people's beliefs. Case in point, I'm so tired feels the need to answer a question directed at non-believers, then trashes non-Christians who answer her question by calling them "wannabes" . It's this kind of hypocrisy that gets under my skin.
Her question-
"Christians- Why are there so many atheists and agnostics on this board?
This used to bother me, but, now I think I know why! God is working on them through us!! I pray for them every night now, won't it be great when we meet in Heaven and see them bowing down! Praise God!

You can rant and rave all you want, I am still praying for you! By the way, the question was for Christians, why are you answering then? Hmmmm? Wannabes?"
Typical "Christian" behavior that I see on here- claiming to be a Christian and then finding joy in the belief that non-believers will be bowing down to you when you reach Heaven.

We have evidence all over the earth.. your creation alone is enough proof.. do you think this is heaven or hell... there is parts of both here.. but not so....
You want any proof you have to seek it and its there in abondance for those who can see and are wise.
Everyone is doomed to hellfire.. here is why and only the grace and mercy of the Lord will remove us from there.
The Angel Gabriel was asked by the lord after he made heaven he said go have a look what I created, Oh Gibreal... and he did... and he said "Paradise is beyond anyone can imagine surely everyone will choose it by your mercy"
Lord said go have a look what it takes to get into the heavens I created...
Gibreal returned "Surely no one will ever enter without your mercy oh Lord"
He then said go look at hell I created for them all... and Gibreal said...
"No one will want to enter that place and all its eternal prisions"
Lord said.. go look what will keep them there
Gibreal said.... "Surely no one will escape it without your mercy"
Without his mercy the only ones that will go there are those who are there now... All the Prophets and those creations that didn't come from the bloodline of Adam or Iblis...mankind or Adam.
You want proof go look at menstration cycle of a women and tell me you can do that... and then pregnancy and child birth..no man can bear that pain every women will tell you that
But if they only had one child and where allowed to remember that pain and other pain.. then they will never have given birth to more than 1... no man will make that pain for themselves 2x no matter the reward...
If I smash a bowling ball on your foot, you will never allow it to happen again unless you are unaware of the action...
How many children on average does a person have... that alone is enough proof... who gave them this mercy and who is to attain this mercy.... that alone is more than enough proof!

Because, as history shows, believing in "God" seems to be more trouble than it's worth. For all of us. People may find other reasons to start wars. But isn't it at least worth a try to see if we "can all get along" without the fear of an imaginary man in the sky? Who knows...maybe it would be better...why not at least try, i say. I'm not going to lie and say I don't care if they believe when I obviously feel that it affects me and others in the world in a negative way.

I don't care, I argue because some of them try and make me believe what they believe. If they leave me alone, all of them, then I will no longer criticize them, until then I will leave my blade draw and my shield raised. That and some of the worst crimes imaginable have been done in the name of god.
Other then that I just like arguing. As long as it stays civil its interesting to see other peoples view on things and friendly arguing is the best way to get someone to take a stand on their beliefs and show what they truly think.

I don't care whether or not they believe in a god. If they're happy with their belief, great! :)
They cross the line, however, when they start trying to force others to believe their way or saying things that just aren't true about others who don't share their belief.

1. Stop insulting us by calling us nonbelievers. It says that we believe in nothing when thats a completely lie. We just don't believe in your particular brand of religion.
2. I do not care one whit whether you believe in your god or not. I just want you to butt out of my life.
3. If you're an Atheist, you'd already know the answer to your question.

I don't care that they believe in god. I only care that they feel that this belief makes them superior to others, and they try to use the law to push their morality down our throats.
