I asked this question earlier, as well as gave my own answer as to why I have decided to revert to Islam. Instead of receiving real answers, I receieved many rude comments and such.

Please spare me the insulting and judgemental "answers" this time. I want the stories of my reverted brothers and sisters! :-)

We are all born Muslim. We do not convert to Islam. We revert.

I understand that you all have different beliefs and opinions as to whether it's "convert" or "revert." Franky, I don't care which term a person thinks is correct, but the Muslim belief is that we "revert."

Oops! The above was supposed to say "frankly." (He he he!)

I reverted because I finally found a religion that matched the beliefs I already had. I found peace and acceptance in Islam and great hope for the future. I also found and married an absolutely wonderful Muslim man (though he is NOT my reason for reverting).

never reverted to Islam, but I once "reverted" to Jehovah's Witnesses. Well, don't know if you call it revert, since I only went to the Kingdom Hall because I was laying the pipe to a Jehovah Witness girl for a few months. Does that count?

Well I wasn't anything other than Muslim. But until I broke my leg, I looked into Islam more than just calling myself Muslim. And love it. I wish the whole world was Muslim and died Muslim. Allah is Great. Maybe it will happen. Allahu Akbar.

Because it is more than a religion...it is a way of life (deen). As a Muslim I learn and enjoy community, share in disciplines that lead myself to be a better person. For me Islam is something to believe in because its tenets are good for all mankind. I have never put faith in a religion for I have always asked myself "What church does God go to?" God is a way of life and Islam mirrors this concept.

i loved your word 'revert' :)
i totally agree with you as many people misunderstand that every body born in Islam . which means every human being born with the same true believes toward their only creator ,then their parents or their environment changes them .

god bless you sister ,peace :)

Your question implies that we are all "Muslims" who have strayed. Quite the contrary, we are all born Atheists. Your parents pick your delusion for you. And then some people, like yourself, when they grow up, choose to switch delusions.

The proper term is "convert" not "revert".
