ice is PERFECT for pups who are teething....even if they arent teething, they love it! The coldness feels good and soothes their gums! also try some things such as....
- fill a puppy Kong with peanut butter and freeze
-freeze soup broth in an ice tray and give to pup
-dip a large carrot in water and freeze then give as a treat.
good luck with your puppy! and its great that you would care enough about your pups teeth to ask something like that...most people regard teeth of dogs, but consiquences of not taking care of your dogs teeth are some of the #1 reasons they die!
i brush my pups teeth every other day to keep them healthy...and ice and frozen things keep his gums soothed and his teeth strong and clean!
also its a really great idea to slid it around the kitchen floor and let him scoot it as a game since he cant play outside. and on other days when its especcially hot but your pup just loves being outside, put some ice cubes in his water bowl to keep him cool and hydrated!
o and by the way, he cant choke on it.....it melts?
email me if you have any other questions! and good luck!

Ice and crusty snow can be quite abrasive. Booties can protect the feet. The best booties I have seen are from Mountain Ridge Kennels, 1-866-dogboot. 10 Squared Racing has an ointment fort dog's feet. I have never used it but I know some mushers who swear by it. Most dogs never have foot problems but some have delicate feet . Cut pads seem to take longer to heal than other injuries. Don't leave booties on the dog when you are not on the other end of the leash. If left alone many dogs will chew the boots off. Unless the cut is large enough to need stitches the vet won't be able to do much. You will have to decide if treatment is needed.

How big is the puppy a small breed or a large breed. Maybe little pieces would be ok, puppies are pretty excited and a big piece could get stuck in their throat. I put ice in my puppies water and they lick the cubes and spit them out when they have had enough. Plus if they are outside and it's hot the ice melts. It does seem to help with their teething.

Ice is a good treat as long as the puppy doesn't have any new adult teeth which could break when chewing ice. My dogs all love ice cubes.

I always give my dog ice cubes when it's hot out. Keep the pieces small, so they thaw quickly enough that they don't splinter. Other great chew options for puppies are empty cardboard milk cartons, or any other paper based food container. If it's a box, they love it if you tuck a treat inside that they can liberate.

Ice is a really great treat to give to your puppy. They can play with it and if they consume it it’s really no big deal because it’s just water. Go ahead and toss it to him. BTW if ya give it to him on a linoleum floor and he drops it the real fun will pursue LOL. Bottom line they love it and there is nothing wrong with it. Won’t hurt him at all. Have Fun and Enjoy.

I give my dog ice because she gets so hot after walks and likes to lick it, since yours is a puppy I wouldn't be to concerned about him biting it and breaking off sharp pieces but I'd watch him cuz it could be a choking hazard.

Will ice help him what? I give my dogs an ice cube once in a while, they think it is a great treat. It is just water. It is not going to hurt him.

We have found that ice cubes make great treats!..and also a great way to train during the hot summer months. You just have to be careful as to the size of the cubes and that they don't choke if they try to swallow it whole.
