I had my tailbone broken from the pressure of my first pregnancy, so I carried around a baby for the last month with the broken tailbone...talk about pain. Anyway, doc's said that there was nothing that could be done for that, just like breaking a collar bone. They just gave me one of those plastic donuts to sit on to ease the pressure.

Sorry about the pain. It does go away.

Hi i had this problem to but it was due to giving birth 9 years old, when my daughter travelled down the birth canal she moved the coccyx bone and it got very inflammed. It was painful for about 1 year then my gp referred me to the orthopaedic team in my local hospital, and i was admitted within 6mths and had the coccyx tail removed which i was so glad as the pain was making me feel sick all the time. Now i am pain free.Have you fallen or anything like that ? If so this may be why your having so much pain, this is very common in alot off people when giving birth or fallen from a high distance.Go to your gp and see if they will refer you worth a go.Good Luck Oh when you sit down get your self a blow up ring, this will take the pressure off the coccyx area and it does work. And there is treatment,a course off physio and pan relief injections,if that dont work they may consider removal off the tail.

There is not really much you can do. The only thing to make the pain lesser is to get a round cuss en to sit on its made of a hard type of sponce. It really works my wife injured her coccyx ones and the doctor said she must get a cuss en like the one i told you about and if the pain doesn't get better he have to operate and it did get better. The pain is not gone but it is more than 80% better. Good luck.

Since it has been bothering you for so long it's probably not broken it's probably more like a cyst or something else. Did the doctor do x-rays? Have you had any other tests or anything else done? Have you tried using ice, a donut and taking ibuprofen?

Since April is too long Sarah. You do need to go to the doctor and find out what is keeping it so sore for so long. You may need a special cushion to sit on or it may be something entirely different.

There's a common cyst that forms at the tailbone. It's possible that you have a cyst. You can take hot baths with 2c. of Epsom salts to help relieve the pain. Advil liquid capsules are very fast acting for pain.

When you can see a medical doctor.

did you have a nasty fall or give birth around the time that it started hurting? a bad bruise or break is the only thing i can think of that would make it so painful but, i'm no doc either.
