In the bible, for example, Moses lived 800 sum years, does it state where/why people do not live as long now? I had always though Adam and Eve destructed the dieing at an earlier age. I also have have a lot of questions because Adam and Eve did all their harm in Genesis, the first book of the bible but if that was all so how did Moses live a long life, he came after the beginning of the bible. Theses are all questions I will take to my preacher or Sunday school teacher(s) but if anyone knows could they tell me where, if at all does it state that people will die at a younger age now?

Before the great flood, a lifespan could go up to 1000 years. Adam lived up to more than 900 years. But after the flood, a lifespan lasted no more than 100 years.

First of all, Moses died around 120 yrs not 800. Recently (Jan 2007) the oldest man living died at 115 yrs, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emiliano_Mercado_del_Toro), so dying at 120 does not look impossible.

Check at Genesis first eleven chapters for those record breakers before Noah and Abraham time who lived longer lives.

Verses stating limits for people lives?
Psalms 90:10 state that the life (for the strongest) is 80 years. Take that as an average and people like Emiliano as extremes.

There is a Psalm that says 'the years of a man are 70 years, or if due to strength, eighty." You may be thinking of this. One reason that our pastor told us folks live shorter lives now is because around the time of the flood, there was a star that went supernova. The radiation from that star has been affecting the earth ever since, and because of that, our skin cells age much faster and die sooner. (He is also a scientist)

Moses did not live 800 years. I think you have him confused with Noah. I think Moses lived for 120 years.

Seems to me that the age of man was shorter after the flood. The only explanation I can come up with for Moses is that God preserved him until his work (or calling) was completed.
