It should be.
Think of it this way:
Most women's bodies naturally burn about 1,800 calories a day. So if you're eating 2,000 calories a day, then you need to burn 200 extra calories (about 30 minutes of exercise).
Once about 3,000 unburned calories build up over time, you will gain a pound and you will have to burn all 3,000 calories to lose that pound you gained.
So as long as you're not over-eating, 30 minutes of exercise should be more than enough. :) Stay active!

That all depends on what what you consider exercise. Theres nothing wrong with staying in shape at any age, but you may want to consider an afterschool sport as a sorce of exercise. I enjoyed tennis quite a bit when I was at your age. If your school offers this program, I'd reccomend it.
As far as weights and/or arobic type exercises, 30 minutes a day sounds fine. Jogging is a great form of exercise too.

Ooooh, I'm so glad you asked because I just read (in Redbook Mag, Aug. '07) about a useful website that calculates calories (based on weight and duration of time) expended in more than 200 activities.
It's: primusweb.com/fitnesspartner
