my sons girl friend, mother of his 2 children, up and left, he
sees one child each two days per week.their ages are nealy 2 and 3 this coming augest. well the youngest has had two burns on his hand in under six months, she said one was caused by her hair striaghtners, which she blamed the children for turning on ,and this weeks one was by an iron that her sister left on. didn't look like an iron burn to me as they where two seperate burns on one finger.. Anyway we have the eldest lad tonight. and his eye is all sore and weepy. and he told my son that mummy burnt his eye. last week when we had him. he noticed a small cut on my sons hand and said ,"daddy sore finger, jack got sore leg", when my son had a look he had 4 marks on the calf of his leg, that were still there when i saw him 3 hours later, when asked , he said his mummy did it. the kids are living in filth with two dogs doing their business all over the house, when my son picks them up, they are never dressed, running round

half naked, i want to report her to social services. ih this proof enough. i do not want to put a spoke in the works, and let her prevent my son from seeing them, this is the only safety net they have got at this moment, if she is forwarned of a visit, i know she will put on an act. and then she has an excuse for my son not to see the kids, they are beginning to smell and when we have them they are out of control, my hearts cries out to them, they never seem to want any cuddles or love, can any one please tell me, What i can do

While there doesn't seem to be any clear cut evidence of abuse, the living conditions you describe are pretty good indications that there is some serious neglect going on. I would advise you to contact social services, report the conditions, and tell them of your concerns. If the kids show up with more injuries, take pictures of them, and document what they say happened. Removing children from someone's care takes some pretty serious evidence, document everything, and provide it all to social services. Good luck !

Here in Ireland we have a public health nurse who calls on small children from time to time in the family home, checking growth, testing vision and hearing. If you have something similar wherever you live, a discreet word with her might result in a visit VERY SOON, even if there wasn't one due, and if she were to be the one to find burns, cuts and bruises - she is the one to know the steps to take next. Anything you do would be seen as interference, which may cause visitation difficulties later. Injuries certainly sound like abuse, and the rest like negligence, lack of care.

Speak up soon, but to the right people. Let them take charge

Probably!! Those things only happen once or twice in a child's life where they burn themselves for turning on an iron or a pressing comb. So they probably are getting abused. SO i would ask their mother if the children can spend the night over your house for a week or two. That will give you enoughtime to ask the two kids whats going on. Tell them that they an thell you anything. That will make them want to tell you and if she is abusing them then call the police and give the children to their father (your son)

You should take photos of the marks/burns and then log when you found them, then call your police department or social services to take the children away from the mother. The children are clearly being abused from my standpoint.

Good luck.

what are you waiting for??? Call child protective services immediatley or else march your butt to the court and seek someone in the family court department and have those children taken away from their mother. You can call the police and have them go to her house there are a number of things you can do but you have to do it now before one of those children ends up seriously hurt or dead. GL!

You should direct your concern to a Child and Family Service or Child Welfare Department for a complete investigation. Usually where there is smoke there is fire.
Be sure to follow up on the investigation to see that it is done.
These things are best handled by professionals in spite or their obvious short -coming.

omg..........yes this is child abuse, take pictures of all the injuries everytime you see them. You need proof and your boyfriend is the father correct? When they are in his care, have him bring them to the emergency room as a frantic parent (concerned rather) and let the hospital do x-rays to see if any internal bleeding or broken bones, then tell them all the incidents you witnessed in your care. If a police officer talks to you have to pictures on you to show them. She will go to jail and you guys could get blamed for it not only by her if she were a witch or by any one else who sees the bruises. CYA and take care of those kids, You could also get in trouble if you do not report it, (the father) so cover your ***, and help those kids. Good Luck and my heart goes out to those kids. PLEASE HELP THEM PLEASE...................

This is definitely child abuse and you and your son need to get those kids take pictures of their injures, document their stories and everything you have noticed from day one and report her ***. Do not allow those kids to go back around her and you need to act immediately. Those babies can't protect themselves so it is your job to protect them.
