It all depends on the artist and the detail of the tattoo. I just got a quarter sleeve on my shoulder. I paid $400 for it. And it took about 10 hrs total. In three sessions. So, I'm guessing a half sleeve would be about twice that. I would however suggest getting it on your upper arm instead of the lower half. It will be easier to cover if the occasion called for it. Unless you plan on being a rock star or some other profession where nobody really cares if you have a big *** tattoo hanging out all the time. I love all of my tats and I am proud to show them off as much as possible, but I also have a job that requires a professional appearance. Just my opinion...

Dont take this the wrong way, but Im in love with you baby, and I dont even know your name.

Anyways, tattoos vary in price due to detail, size, color, and that means the person as well as the tattoo. If your forearm is small because you are a small person, weight and height, then the tattoo will be a little bit cheaper for you. Also if its like a thin tribal piece or a tribal piece period, it will be a little cheaper, but not by much. Tattooing tribal is hard because of the long lines involved, but the coloring is easy. Unless you go for the more modern tribal which is like 3-D or very detailed. Then expect to pay more, because those are hard to do for sure.

If its Celtic, which is what my half sleeve consists of, it is expensive because there is alot of detail that goes into it, proper shading and thickness of lines, proper background shading and color is a huge factor in any tattoo, but especially with Celtic. Also with Celtic, the lines have to be exactly evenly spaced apart to make the Celtic line appear to be even and true.

So many things go into a half sleeve tattoo, like are they going to be a lot of spaced out meaningful tattoos all over your forearm with a good background that ties them all together. That is what I am going to end up doing, right now I have 6 meaningful tattoos on my left forearm, all are spaced out though, and soon I will design the proper background to tie them all together. Also, do yourself a favor, have the tattoo stop at the wrist line, not the wrist itself.

On my left forearm I have a tattoo that actually starts at the base of my hand and travels all the way up the back and surrounds my elbow on the sides. It doesnt matter if I wear a long sleeve shirt or not, the tattoo is on my hand, the back part of it anyways, but it still shows no matter what. The wrist line stops about half an inch or more, from the base of the hand. The one on my right forearm exceeds that line by about an inch and a half. Oh well.

Hope that tattoo goes well, and in my opinion, the tattoos that a woman has just boosts her beauty even more, I love a woman that has nice, meaningful, well designed tattoos on her. I dont care if she were to have a full sleeve, if it looks good then it looks good. Look at the Suicide Girls, God I love them all.

Something that large would be done by the hour and would take more than one appointment. I'd say between $700-$1000 depending on the quality of the work done.

Personally, I would suggest getting something smaller done;
tattoos that large are for people who are very serious. You are still very young and what you like today will probably change over the years. As well, it can be difficult finding a job where visible tattoos are accepted.

Oh, and arm tattoos look very tacky on women (I assume you are female.) I once saw a wedding party step out of a limo and everyone looked fabulous. But the appearance of the entire wedding party was ruined by the armbands on one of the bride's maid. No matter how she stood in the photographs, her tattoos stood out like a sore thumb.

It didn't look very classy on her. It hasn't looked classy on any woman I've seen and it isn't going to look classy on you either. Just a thought.

I'm the same way you are cause I in the beginning I was going to get a whole theme after I got my first tattoo. But then though later on just because I got a tattoo of Jesus doesn't mean I want all religious stuff. So I waited until I found something I really Love and that wa a Phantom of The Opera tattoo right beneath it. It doesn't match but I love it so who cares if it looks weird to other people since your the one getting them and not them. And I have seen other people besides myself who do this like me and some of them are females too.

It really depends on how many different colors you use and how detailed it is. I think it will look great and i have a tattoo down my back, but just think of the fact that you may have to wear long sleeves to work for the rest of your life.

I've heard of anywhere from $500-$2500 depending on your artist, the complexity of your tattoo and how much time it will take to do it. If you have a design in mind go to your artist and ask for a quote. They should be able to give you a figure right there :) Good luck

it depends on a lot of factors.

who does it.
what your getting done.
the amount of colors and detail.
how many sessions it takes.
what state you live in [some states it is way more expensive to get tattooed in].

if you have any other questions feel free to email me.
