You can choose to not open the door. This choice is not rude. Another choice you can make is simply to say, "Thank you for thinking about me, but I am not interested". ..and close the door before they have a chance to respond.
My father once dealt with these people by answering the door without a stitch of clothes on....they never came back. LOL

Tough love is ... well, tough.
Anyone who does not take a firm, but polite "no thank you" is being rude. Whether they are selling vacuums, god, politics, themselves, or starving children in Africa.
ADD: They are good practice at firmly saying no to strangers. Most of them really are nice people which is why they are safe to practice on (and thus learn to be prepared for not nice people).
ADD ADD: Being a door to door religious is good practice for being a successful sales person (as is volunteering for a good cause, politics, etc.). Going door to door and keeping a positive mind after facing multiple rejection takes practice.

Here are some questions you can ask them:
"Why does God require a blood sacrifice before he can forgive anybody? I can forgive people without killing anyone, not even an insect, so why can't God?"
"In the Bible, God says that children shall not be punished for the sins of their parents, yet Christians teach that all mankind suffers God's wrath because of Adam and Eve's sins. Doesn't this mean that God is basically punishing all of us for something two people did 6000 years ago?"
"The Bible says Earth will never be destroyed, yet science tells us that one day the sun will expand to a red giant, destroying most of the planets. Do you really expect me to disbelieve science in favor of scriptures written by Bronze Age people who thought the world was flat?"
"Science also tells us that there are billions of stars in the galaxy, and trillions of galaxies in the universe, which means there must be trillions of planets similar to ours harboring intelligent life. Is it realistic to believe that an omni-everything deity would center its attention exclusively on the activity of one tiny planet? Did Jesus die for them, too, or does each planet get its own savior?"
"If Jesus is the only name by which men may be saved, and the majority of people who have ever lived have either never heard of Jesus or simply see no reason to believe in him, then this means the majority of humanity are doomed to be destroyed by God for their disbelief. Seeing as how God is all-knowing, then he knew before they existed that they would reject him, so why did he bother letting them be born? Why punish them for something he knew they were going to do anyway? Is God a sadist?"
"You say in your literature that Jesus is God's appointed judge of all mankind, as per John 5:22. Yet Jesus is also recorded as having said, in John 8:15, 'I judge no man.' Isn't this a contradiction?"
"If God's thoughts are higher than human thoughts, then how do you know the Bible has anything to do with what God is thinking?"
Although, Vin's answer is pretty good, too. :o]

Be polite like the people above me have said. As a last-ditch resort you could tell them "I used to be a Jehovah's witness myself, but I saw the light." They'll drop you like a hot potato after that, as they are not supposed to associate with those who have turned away from the church.

Go to a yard sale & buy a beaten up looking bible. Then take a highlighter and highlight the passages listed at the link below.
Invite them in next time they knock. Go through each passage, one at a time, and ask them to explain...
They won't come back!

Just tell them that you aren't going to change your mind because you do what your heart feels is right and that isn't religion. Or you could tell them to leave you the hell alone and stop shoving their beliefs down your throat.

Educate them more about evolution or other religion...it will irritate them i hope. But, honestly, just listen to what they preach, the last thing you would be is to be a Mormon(if you are a rational person).

Just like that.
Tell them you are not interested because you have your own views on things.
Simply state that if you change your mind or want any biblical info, you will contact them, but as for now, you are fine with your own beliefs.

Just tell them that you are completely content in your spirituality, and when they can bring the messiah to your home and have chat, you would be thrilled to talk to them.
Wish them well, but until that day, they needn't waste any more of their time.
